Post stats

You're gonna make it. Just pick a solid novice program and stick to it. I really recommend reading practical programming at some point.

Post body

i am 5'8, 145lbs but havent weighed myself in a bit, 20 yrs old, currently 3 weeks into a program. ive lifted before but not very consistently, fortunately been able to stick to my shit this time

honestly i think i screwed myself a bit by starting at slightly too high weights -- i can DO my sets w/o deload but i think im gonna slow my progress and increase the # of sets on most of my exercises to build a better base to progress from

I crush every single leg exercise I do with no problem though. Deadlifting fucking rules.

You won’t progress as fast as if you started lower, but you’ll plateau around the same weight/time. Don’t worry you didn’t screw anything up.

But at 5ft8 145 and good legs.... be my gf?

these threads are trash

Not fully pink anymore.

Been lifting 2 months. Got a 1pl8 DL for 5x5 for the first time on Friday, up from lmao 1/3 pl8

>practical programming
thanks user. not him, but my library has it, so I'll grab a copy tomorrow

u gotta eat food and work your core friendo

cheers my dude
upped my cals two weeks ago, follwing scoopy's calculator
scoobysworkshop.com/calorie-calculator/
>core
I'm on Reg Park's beginner routine... do you think it's smart to add accessories each day?
example: ab and oblique work, plus upper back work like facepulls (yes, my name is Jesse)

I ask because my posture issues are way better, but I found out they were caused by:
weak glutes
weak abs
weak upper back
tight pecs
tight hip flexors
weak adductors
major internal rotation at shoulders

>tfw overtrained legs/glutes from years of competitive running
>i get mired by old men in the locker room

I thought you were world class for a moment.

I do core every single gym day (3/wk for me), i'm sure that routine is fine especially for beginner level. as long as you can really feel like you worked your guts out, you did a good core routine. I also do extra core on my off days (i say that but im super inconsistent with off day exercise)

post body pls?

32, 6'1 205lb
9 months lifting

Could be worse but could be better

Attached: Untitled.png (1039x866, 389K)

how did you end up in a wheelchair? car accident?

thanks bro.

"tight upper back" and "tight abs" are not anything I have to worry about suffering from anytime soon, so I'll hit those volume and variety
I also really should do a mobility routine on my off days, so that and accessory work will be a good excuse to get in the gym almost every day instead of 3x/wk

how much do you eat?

Do legs retard

No, add weight

Do i add the bar weight or nay?

You are all nothing.

Yes, the bar counts.

ngmi

and they say starting strength is a meme

Stretch, you mong. And eat some avocado.

Are you all neglecting calves or it's not an option?

It doesn’t account for them. As far as lifting goes, calves don’t do a whole lot.

>World-class muscles next to untrained muscles.
Hello snap city

Just work your weakest muscles (in your case legs) more.

thats sub par not world class

It's subpar. The color is very similar. No one would have untrained front delts and triceps with a world class bench.

The site can only tell your calves strengh if you tell your numbers in all 4 of these exercises: Front Squat, Back Squat, Deadlift, Power Clean

confused what i should put in if I do a 5x5 workout since it wont accept 25 reps as an option

you put in 5 reps, retard

getting there, switched to PHUL this weak because im super bored of starting strength although you guys said PHUL was shit.

Any program suggestions? need a bit of hypertrophy

My squat is pathetic and I can't seem to improve. Help

I'm a simple man, I love deadlifts and rowing.

Attached: pullman.png (691x635, 262K)

I envy you cause I get soldier pain (right side)straight away when trying to bench so I've completely ignored it.

What are your stats?

as long as youre still putting on weight and making progress, it doesnt matter

Is it normal not to make strength progress when your cutting even if your lifts are already really weak?

do you not dead lift?

Ya. How big is your deficit, you could try a smaller deficit for a few weeks and see if it helps

I do. It's a 2pl8 deadlift. I can't get any heavier.
5'10 140ish

I dont bench because I fucked up my shoulders (as you can see on the pic) I do really heavy weighted dips though and i think that pushes my stats up.

Do you guys only lift? As much as I want to just devote all my time to powerlifting, I cant ditch rockclimbing. Yes, you would expect for my core to be better but... I'm just lazy.

Attached: Screenshot_20190917-132612_Chrome~2.jpg (1080x1923, 183K)

>It's a 2pl8 deadlift. I can't get any heavier.
Nigga how in the fuck? I've been lifting for 3 months and I did 285 this morning.

Well that's just great user, but I start to see stars with 2 plates. I don't know why I can't lift heavier.

I'll start doing dips but need to gather noob gains first

Climbing is legit homie! Lifting big numbers doesn't have to be the main goal. Overall fitness means different things to different people.

Almost 3 years lifting now.
