I Started growing my hair out because of the long hair threads on here from over a year ago. I wonder how many Jow Forumsizens made it through the awkward stage.

I took it but it was a pain in the arse. I looked like a serial killer no matter how much I groomed and styled it. If you do do it, you must be patient and fight off urges to cut it all off. Pic related was my goal when I grew it out.

Why people find people interesting based on certain physical feature? Never understood this logic, Sound like peak shallowness just doesn't come as because it's positive.

how do you style your hair bros? I usually wear a ponytail wherever i go but i feel like sometimes its pulling my hair and heard it contributes to receding hairline.
Occasionally i go with half up-half down but thats pretty much it.
As for maintaining, i just use a shitty cheap shampoo, conditioner and brush/comb it after every wash, and cut ends every 3-6 months

Yes, 3 years ago starting from a buzzcut. Second best choice I ever made in regards to my appearance after lifting. It's crazy how many chicks are into the Khal Drogo look.

Ponytail when I'm in a hurry or just don't give a shit. Half-ponytail like or braid when I go out and want to look decent. Long and loose when I know I don't have to do anything physical and it's not hot outside.

rate please. been growing it out for 5 months now. since started to like the manbun style, i was planning on not going to the barber for a year+ and see how it looks but the back side is really starting outgrow the frontside and its getting really difficult to comb back since i have natural wavy hair (have my mothers hair, thank god)

One kid in my gym uses wax to slick back his hair. It doesn't seem to bother him but just use if it bothers you. I used to wear a baseball cap or a beanie like an autist when I was growing mine out.

Not the guy you you'd, but my awkward stage lasted i'd say 1.5 years - from maybe 5cm top and 1mm side 'til i could tie a ponytail (including the hairs from the hairline)
But keep in mind i have very straight hair so i looked funny way longer than lets say someone who has curly or wavy haur

Long hair is a pain it the ass. I used to have long-ish hair for nearly 15 years, but care and styling was so shit. Wind was my mortal enemy and lemme tell you, when you have long hair, every fucking day is windy as fuck, the slightest breeze and it's all over the place. My hair is thick as fuck, so showering in the morning meant I had to wake up in ungodly hours to get my hair right and if I showered in the evening I'd look like my fucking pillow exploded the next day, so I had no choice but to tie it up, which I fucking hated. Long story short, took a buzzer and went to town, never looked back. Men should care about more important shit than how their fucking hair looks all the damn time, I'd never forget how many times per day I had to take out my phone or find a mirror to look at my hair, just to make sure I was sharp. Chicks don't really give a fuck about how long or short your hair is, you just gotta rock it with confidence like anything else and let me tell you, caring about looks more than a fucking woman doesn't project much confidence, quite the opposite.
Tldr: Do whatever the fuck you want with your hair, but make sure it's easy maintenance, cause fucking with it all the damn time is annoying.

Don't shampoo more than 2-3 times a week based on how dirty you get.

If your hair is smelly you can use conditioner to clean it without making it poofy as fuck.

How do I prevent my hair being so fuzzy and dry after I wash it? It always looks better after a day of not washing it because of the natural oil buildup.

I have straight hair and similar issue with the back being kinda too long. Think I'll trim the back until the upper parts catch up.

I was in the awkward phase where it's too long to be short but too short to be long, then I had a job interview and realized that if I wanted the job I'd have to cut my hair, so now it's cut.

Which sucks, as I'd have liked it long but I only noticed when it was longer that I have hair thinning on my crown, which annoys me as at short lengths it's not visible unless pointed out - but if it's long a photo from behind looks yikesey.

I probs will never grow out my hair, buzz works well for me. Multiple people have told me I have a very nice shaped skull, so why hide it? Plus, I work in a professional environment, so I don't think the awkward stage will go through too well.

Personally i shampoo my hair, and then just wash it with hot water for as many days possible, until it becomes too greasy/oily and ill shampoo it again. Basically i try to squeeze out as many "good hair days" as possible, as i've realized some time ago (just like you) that the days after shampooing the hair look best.
