i can't decide how these compare to other squat variants. I feel stronger on these than on the Front Squat, but weaker than on the High Bar Back Squat. It feels like a Zercher Squat but without the arm pain.
Today I did a 345lb SSB squat, my PR front squat is 315 and my PR back squat is 415. I think I'm gonna try to get SSB up to 400lbs and see what that does for my back squat

Should I use less weight, do less reps/sets, stop completely til it feels better, or just power through it?

Only been working out for 1.5 months, consistently adding 2.5kg to my squats every gym visit, record is 77.5kg. Going three times per week.
I'm mostly just unsure of whether or not this pain is normal or if it's something I need to be worried about.

whats so safe about these? You have to change your form instead of using a regular high bar squat form and when you fail the set, you cant dump the bar behind you and you might not be under some safeties if this thing doesnt fit
So I guess you are doing any 5x5 LP program. Did someone teach you the squat? If not, film yourself during your lift from the side and behind and let a coach/powersquatter look over it. Otherwise, get your regeneration straight, go for it for another week, if it doesnt get better or even worse, take a week off with only light squats, maybe 60 kg with 3x5
Yeah, a friend of mine taught me to squat, along with every other exercise on the program. According to him, my form is pretty good.
I think I'll try doing 3x5 with lower weight for a bit and see if that helps. Thanks for the advice.
