Why do women have all these theatrics when setting up for deadlift?
Some do little cringe dances like the chicken dance, some spread their arms out, some punch their quads, etc.
I have never seen any of these from their male counterparts or if I have then not as common. What is the point of it??

I deadlift 200kg and I never do any of those shits but I do sometimes punch my legs or my belt, kinda to hype myself up.

I do weird dances to get my blood flowing and loosen up my muscles. Usually I'll bounce around on each leg, then do some body weight jump squats, then spin my arms around in circles before I deadlift. Max is only 420 but I don't compete so whatevs.

I do a little giggle and dance before every top set because I honestly like the attention. Plus I found that through the powerlifts I get a nice butt and legs haha. With my high arch I hardly have to worry about bench, so I just consider powerlifting a feminine sport because 2/3rds of it is lower body. I pull sumo and squat low bar as well so I blow most boys out of the water numerically haha

they are engaging muscles and form checklists, its different for everyone. it might look autistic but that's how it is; some people can walk up to the bar and dont think about it but for people doing 1rm lifts they are making sure everything is perfect

My setup: walk to the bar, ensure foot placement, grab bar, straighten legs out, catch breath, bend legs simultaneously activating lats and posturing my back, lift
To those wondering, I'm no superhuman and my max is 495 (conventional of course) at 170 bodyweight but even for my 1RM i've never done any of these little theatrics

I do setup grabs and empty lifts a couple of times before the real thing. Probably looks absolutely retarded.
I just want to make sure I'm placed right and moving correctly with an imaginary bar, right above the real one, before attempting the lift.
