How the fuck do you develop discipline?
How the fuck do you develop discipline?
That's actually a good question.
In no specific order, it starts with a little motivation. Then repetition, habit formation, and diligence...Then, there will come a time when the initial excitement for your activity will wear off. Your decision to force yourself to continue is discipline.
Basically I think of the activity as having more value than anything else I could be doing at that moment. If that doesn't work, I then mentally beat the shit out of myself until I go ahead and do it. Works every time.
Nike slogan, just do it. Once you start thinking about it you're already over thinking it and not doing it. That's all
discipline isn't something you develop. it's binary, it's either there or it isn't. you can't improve upon it or train it, you can only do it. it's a state of being. if you had it, you would be where you want, have who you want, and look like what you want. and you wouldn't have to ask how.
>If you had it, you would be where you want
>Implying there is no journey to a destination
>Implying you are born with skills
>Implying only some people can make it
Anyone can make it, and anyone can develop discipline. Go fuck yourself.
>everything is black or white
You have to develop discipline for each new thing you do. Force yourself to do it for two weeks regularly and then it will become part of your lifestyle. The forcing yourself part is the hardest, but then it gets really easy.
What I usually do on days I don’t want to go the the gym is just go anyways. Not even joking
Develop discipline.
NEVER IMPROVE
He never will. He'll just continue to try to push people down over the internet
When I feel lazy I always tell myself that I will finish earlier to motivate myself to go there, but I always do the full workout anyway because actually working out gives me more energy.
You just have to decide to have it. Thats it. Realize that nobody will make good decisions for you and decide to do the things you know you should be doing.
if your parents don't instill it into you you won't develop it.
>You need parents to be successful
You can go ahead and fuck off as well.
Anyone can develop discipline. Anyone can be successful.
You will fail in the start, but that grippeling feeling of failure will push you if you conciously think about it. Set a goal, fail with it, set a goal, fail less because you learned from the previous and so on
This might be the stupidest fucking thing I've read in a while. It's like you're retarded but still figured out how to use the internet.
like others have said, you don't develop discipline, it's not a skill. it's just something you do. im telling him exactly how it is. he could have it but instead he's asking a board full of larpers and losers how to develop something he could just turn on whenever he decided to. if you take that as me putting him down and saying he can't achieve it then fine, you choose how to perceive it.
Don’t have discipline, huh?
>I'm putting people down
>It's your fault for perceiving it that way.
That's not how it is, and you're a larper. Post body, dipshit.
As cheesy as it sounds I think I got it from doing tae kwan do as a kid. I have really good discipline and will power.
Slowly, over time
>Being an asshole on the internet
I bet you're fun at parties
Based. I always walk my dog before a run so that I actually want to run. I just ran 1.5 miles I had absolutely no intention of running
>I don't have parents and I'm doing great
ok heh
>You don't develop discipline, it's just something you do
>It's not a skill
So you don't do skills? Everyone starts somewhere. You're an idiot.
Love you
you too bb
Keep trying it is my advice, I was a fatty for years and i kept falling off my work out routine, until about september 2017 I tried again and i've been exercising 3-4 times a week since.
...
wow, project much?
>cause sometimes you just feel tired
>You feel weak, and when you feel weak you feel like you just wanna give up.
>But you gotta search within you, you gotta find that inner strength.
>And just pull that shit outta you, and get that motivation to not give up.
>And not be a quitter, no matter how bad you wanna just fall flat on your face and collapse.
When I don't want to go I make myself. Even if I feel like shit and have a bad workout the routine stays in place until I'm motivated again.
Discipline is about motivation. Most people who have great discipline tend to learn more from positive reinforcement. Give yourself a reward for doing something well, like grubbin that cheesy fatburger on a cheat day.
For me, I get to smoke weed after a killer workout. Thats my reward, and the shit works wonders.
movie?
A good Reason or Why helps.
If you have a good Why you want to do something it can help with developing the discipline required towards completing a task.
The Why must be stronger than the excuse.
Discipline is a bit of an enigma. Just look around you in society, fat, stupid & lazy people every where, proper self discipline is for the few, not the many.
