Hey fit, I was wondering if I might get some input on a preferred machine for use in an apartment. Circumstances are changing for me and we will be moving out of the house to an apartment. I am looking for something mainly to use during the winter or just at any point really. The goal of the machine is weight loss and preferably something quiet as we will be on 2nd story.
Id prefer to stay away from treadmills due to my knees not wanting to take a pounding. What might be best?

compound lifts in my opinion are the best weight lost tools. If I don't actually keep track of my diet and eat whatever, I end up losing weight.

I live in Michigan, so the less I have to go outside and deal with the fuckery that is Winter, the better. So, is there an option other than Gym membership?
Honestly, go for a 30 minute walk every day if possible.
Get a rowing machine
I've contemplated one in the past. I may end up doing that. I kind of want something I can watch TV while doing. For example I've considered watching a long running anime like One Piece or something and just work out to one episode or two a day and binge the whole fucking thing. That way I got something to do while working and it doesnt get boring.

Fellow Michifagger here. Get into a winter sport. Cross country skiing is based, especially biathlon.
Hockey, downhill, heck even sledding and the trudge out and hole drilling of ice fishing is decent.
Chop wood, take up trapping, etc.
