This is Jow Forums so a lot of people must have been really shy st the beginning of their gains journey. How did you deal with all the stuff you didn’t know how to use at first. Just watching videos online before you do it, doesn’t prepare you for everything, it could always be a bit different. During no time the gym is completely empty too.

Any advice for a shyfag? I’m sure once I tried out everything it will be ok.

Go with a friend.

I was like you at the start too. The truth is, no one cares about you being the weaker/new guy at the gym. We all start somewhere, and everyone has the same goal of becoming more fit. After a couple of times you'll forget there was anything to be anxious about. Just try to force yourself to go to the gym a few times, once you've gotten a habit you'll keep at it.

>friend
Yeah, right. I have friends, haha.

bro the only thing you need to know how to use is a metal bar and you don't have to talk to anybody. I understand being embarrassed the first few visits but I go without saying a word to people most of my visits even when we're working in with each other because they have earbuds in. read starting strength for basic form advice, if you're high autism the mechanical descriptions of what's going on will make a lot of sense in your head.

What if I do many mistakes or do stupid exercises?

I've read the sticky, choose a program (it was SS) and followed the instructions.

Just follow a beginner program. You don't have to make up your own excercises in the gym.

Deadlifts, squats, bench? Sounds beginner friendly.

If you do your homework you'll know what you need to do before you get there, and that takes that whole question out of the equation. Will you make mistakes? Absolutely. The only people who are gonna have a problem with that are roid raging copers and salty dyel boomers, and nobody likes those guys anyway. Just listen to your body. If you feel any pain that isn't DOMS after a workout, you're doing something wrong.

No, a real program. Read the sticky.

>no, a real program. Read the sticky
>sticky beginner programs start with the big 3 liffs
what did you mean by this?

Every beginner program that I find has the big three.

Look up vids on YouTube. Scooby1961 is an excellent source. But don't stop there. There is a whole plethora of info out there.

A real program involves more than just the lifts. There's a certain order, schedule and progression to follow, and if you gloss over that stuff you'll stay weak, get frustrated and quit. Also the way SS is described in the link in the sticky isn't complete, you have to get the book and read it if you want to do that program.

This helped a ton. I watch videos too, but reading it helps more than anything.

same lol

>t. hasn't read the sticky

This. I always admire fat / twinks going to the gym. I can sense the burning feeling inside them to become healthier, stronger and happier with themselves. If I wasn't such a faggot I'd go right to them and ask "Hey, do you need help?". I hope you keep being strong willed and achieve your goals my fellow new gym friends. I'll be watching over you.

what friend?

why am i introverted because i use Jow Forums

do introverts like it when people call them nigger and faggot

I was never shy I was just really loud, invasive and agressive without being actually muscular. The only difference now is that I actually take care of myself and look good so people let me do whatever the fuck I want.

I asked the gym coaches (or whatever they're called... fitness instructors?) first, but I had bad luck, as first few that I asked were really annoyed they had to do their job and show me anything, which discouraged me. Still, I was looking at the pictures and mostly used the machines. After watching the 80's version of Berserk I figured out my own training regime, which was super hard at first, but got me incredibly motivated and I am pretty much considered as "Made it" (I began lifting 3 or 4 years ago)

Just meme yourself into doing
whenever you feel shame just tell yourself something like "im a newfag and no one can stop me"
"memexcercises"
"im a beginner with babyweight working myself up to lmao 1pl8"
dont be afraid to pull out your phone and watch a proper form video before performing a new excercise
get any begginer routine and stick to it

Introverted means you get tired in social situations, brainlet.

Im an introver, and i can talk to anyone. Get yourself a call centre job, ive sold vacuums, alarms and windows, shit no one wants. Its a good experience.

no matter how awkward it is the first times, it doesn't matter and you will grow doing it. good luck, user. also remember that you don't have to go to a gym to work out.
