I have a similar body shape. A quasi-hour glass with too much fat on the lower stomach and love handles accentuates hips that are just a smudge too wide. If I knew how to fix it, I would have done so long ago.

I'm in your situation. I have a giant man ass and a thin layer of lower stomach love handle fat that makes me look just a bit too wide there on top of my hips. I honestly think the only way to fix it is to cut, ignore the muscle loss until the fat is completely cut, and then bulk up without regaining the fat.

You say this like you have no control over which muscles will get larger. If you train your upper body more, and focus more on hypertrophy for your upper body and more in strength for your lower body, your upper body will gradually, eventually become larger relative to your lower body. This is what body building is all about, building exactly the type of body you want. You can't change insertions but you still have a lot of control over your proportions as long as you stay fairly lean.

also in this position. At 6'1 170 rn. Just gonna bulk up a hard as possible and look disgusting at like 185-190 this winter, and then cut hard in the spring and try and lose ~15-20 lbs in 2-3 months in the spring and hopefully it looks less terrible

He's not doing his thing for aesthetics, so he's probably never going to focus on what it takes to correct. He doesn't even look like he lifts, so that's about what you can expect from someone that doesn't do specific weightlifting.

If you were expecting a more traditional physique, he would need to do a lot of lats, some shrugs, heavy deads and some lower back work, and a variety of arm accessories. It wouldn't fix some genetic things that a lot of people pick on, but it'd give him a more balanced look.

He doesn't hit bulking workouts and is likely a permacutter. You gotta eat big to get big.

hard bodyweight exercises are more about technique/skill and strength than hypertrophy. and he doesnt even care about hypertrophy if you pay attention to what he does.
