I've been lifting for around 2 months now, (just doing whatever lifts I feel like ewhc day) cutting really hard (down to 200 from 247) and my upper body isn't really as big as I'd like and I want to see abs by the end of the year

Congrats on the weight loss. If you want to see abs by the end of the year, then keep going with eating at a deficit and cardio (LISS or HIIT is up to you depending on what works with your current lifestyle).

As for a program, I would pick 5/3/1 because it's infinitely customizable and still allows you to make progress on the big lifts. You should buy the books, but many of the templates and explanations can be found on either Jim Wendler's blog or T-nation just by googling.

If you're cutting, I'd recommend the Triumvirate template or Periodization Bible (something that doesn't go crazy on the accessory work).

Honestly starting strength until you begin to stall consistently, then switch to Texas method. I had wonderful results with madcow 5x5 as well, but after switching to Texas method, my upper body has become much more well rounded due to the introduction of more bench and press volume.
