what was your greatest failure on your weightloss journey? How did it affect you mentally and physically? I lost 40 kg three years ago but regained 37 kg in a year and a half due to stress eating because I returned to university while also working. Fluctuated between 137 kg and 130 kg until four months ago I started to diet and exercise again, now I'm 101 kg. Physically I think I'm more accustomed to constant exercise and this time I have an iron resolve,due to many problems all happening at once I'm under more stress than ever and I've not even thought about eating to cope with it, now I use exercise, literature, music and vidya to relax

I peaked at 301 during my sophomore year of High School. I quit soda, pizza, and sweets and worked out like a mad lad over the summer. I lost a shit ton of weight, started lifting and joined the football team. By the time I graduated I was down to 210. Soon after I got my first gf. We broke up after 4 years and I became a NEET shut in and ballooned back up to 295lbs. I think about suicide everyday.

My biggest failure was my own ignorance. I went to college weighting 260 pounds, joined Karate and lost 30 pounds. I could not go lower, but never tried to change my eating habits, nor exercising aside of my Karate class. One day tragedy befell me, I fell from a bus and damaged one of my knees, had to drop Karate; While my damaged knee still hurts, and i has been 6 years since, the biggest hit was to my mind, I took it as a punishment for trying to improve my quality of life, for trying to be social, for trying to not to be the piece of shit I always was. Now, with 25 years with an slight increase to my wisdom and 60 pounds of fat to my Body, I, once again will try to lose weight.

I've been on 120g of protein for weeks now and never had farts. I did wake myself up one night with a really long, loud one but that's about it.
I'm conscious of going to the toilet too much at work as well so I take green tea in with me but no coffee in the hour before heading in. If you are struggling with hunger then just look down at your gut and realise that it's burning away. Hunger is suffering and suffering is character building.

So I am having an issue where I have been at the gym for two weeks.. and for those two weeks I am fluctuating from 297-305lbs.

I lift a lot for like an hour and half and have like 20 min of cardio at the end. I am also doing OMAD.

Do you think the reason why my weight hasn't changed much is because I am gaining muscle? I am eating at a deficit.

It didn't slow down until about 160. The last 10 lbs has taken 3 months. the first 60 was just nonstop 2-3 lbs a week. I was actually worried it wasn't going to slow down after I crossed normal bmi.

You aren't gaining muscle that fast, don't kid yourself. It could be water retention, could be a lot of things. Don't look at the scale more than once a week, any data more than that is just white noise.

ate a pretty good diverse diet but in enormous amounts and with lots of oil. Even salads were drowning in olive oil, ate three plates of pasta instead of one, there were days when I ate a couple of kilograms of meat etc. I also went drinking almost every friday and saturday, liked beer especially but to even get me buzzed I had to drink around 3-4 liters so I most often drank between 8 and 16 liters of beer most weekends.

Though I'm trying everyday, each thing sort of adds on to a feeling of hopelessness.

Mostly regarding relationships and they all seem not worth it, seem artificial in one way or another.

Though I try to make myself believe it's there, I never see a light at the end of the tunnel and I just want to lay down and stop.

It's always been easier to give up and hide away and I want to again.

I got bad depression and I didn't think I would be living for too long so I started to eat like a pig. Some days I ate a pizza, a pack of ice cream, a meal from McDonald's and some candy or chips. All that combined with sodas and beer

personally i eat a very light meal just before drinking to settle my stomach and don't eat anything else
it's pretty tough to drink tdee, ethanol is about 5.5 kcal per ml so you can work out the calories in a beer pretty easy using the alcohol percentage, add 10% for any other crap that might be in there.
you just need to resist eating once you're drunk.

Unfortunately, you'll likely have a lot of excess skin that'll be removed. I'm in a similar boat as you, although not as heavy (181lbs at 5'1) and I've just accepted lose skin is inevitable but that it's a small price to pay to be healthy.
