The Knife, Against Me, King Prawn, Caribou

I honestly don't enjoy music

Streetlight Manifesto, AJJ, Mountain Goats, Death Grips, Clipping., Black Keys, Arctic Monkeys

I would say the following are my top five favorite in no real order.
Slayer
Hatebreed
Flogging Molly
Sabaton
Iron Maiden

Have you listened to any of the bands I mentioned? (OP)
I could recommend some more recent favorite discoveries for anyone here.
Those are my ride or dies.
Anything too new Iam reluctant to call a favorite or slightly anxious about it.
Could also even name slightly lower tier artists that Ive been a fan of for longer.

Mgla, Lifelover, Psychonaut 4, Intig, Anomalie.

I like My Chemical Romance a lot but dont love them.
Been meaning to invest more time with Sunny Day Real Estate but only know Seven right now.
Dont really like Bring Me pre sempiternal. Tried listening to every release once. It was a bit rough. Might be worth a shot again.
I like the best of The Cures back catalogue. I want to go full in and become a true fan and I try to every couple of years. I usually start from the beginning and peter out. See also Nine Inch Nails.

Dont like Black Keys.
Loathe Arctic Monkeys.
Liked a few Mountain Goats songs but had a hard time fully going into albums.
A girl linked me to AJJ and I likened them to the Mountain Goats but liked them even less.
Is it worth trying to get into Streetlight? I like punk I general a lot, but not ska specifically so much. Seems like a lot of music lovers in general really appreciate them and I am from Jersey.

Hi Monty.

Pole?

I remember this thread being posted like a year ago. Is this a meme on another board or am I going crazy

>pole
no, just the an average dsbm listener.

People mostly just listen to mcrs the black parade, its a pretty good album but the first one is what made me love them, but theyre all good (I think even the last one is decent).
Check out sunny day's diary and pink album, they're really good, how it feels is when they started changing style a bit but its also good.
I like early bmth for how crazy it is, its what got me into screamo (i know its not screamo but sounds a lot like it)
I also mostly listen to the gothic albums of the cure, some of the new wave are alright and some not so, but thats expected for a band that have been out for so long. Whats the best nin album?

Top 5 are probably

Radiohead
The Smiths
Supergrass
The Cure
Bob Dylan

The thing with Streetlight is that, in my opinion at least, they're significantly more punk than Ska, especially in their early stuff. The traditional ska trappings are there, but they serve more to color their sound than dominate it. I always thought it had almost a cinematic vibe.

Police and Scorpions

The Beatles, AC/DC, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, 80's Synth-pop, 2010's Synthwave

I'm a zoomer so I'm not sure if I'm special or not. Probably not, as these bands were 100% normie during their time.

not him, but absolutely. even if you don't like indie rock or think they're a meme, it's kind of like sword art online to anime. you watch it to have a basis to compare everything else to (for better or for worse)

yes they're a super comfy fuzzy folk rock band
my favourite album of theirs is on avery island
the toasty warm lo-fi fuzz sound font of the album tied with the most strange, vivid lyrics keep me coming back
i don't think i'll ever find a better album
