You have to have social media. I have an instagram. Then when you are talking to a girl online in a game or a chat website or forum, you ask her to add you.

my approach is, first of all get them to respond. if they do, then say something funny/interesting, and then after five to ten messages ask if they have snapchat/telegram/another messaging service. this way they either remove you from their matches because, like you said, they just want to waste your time talking, OR they're actually interested and you can up an irl date once you're off the app.
