This was the taste I had at age 12 seven years ago

vidya: custom robo, dark souls 2, jade empire
movies: at the mouth of madness, reservoir dogs, aladdin (animated)
albums: illmatic, czarface (self titled), me against the world

you must've been a pretty based 12 year old. my taste stayed the same from 13 onward.

Damn, why is that? None of them are bad for me when factoring in the nostalgic value, I'm only wondering why you never went beyond that

I was thinking around 22, ,most of the people born 86-91 out grew platformers by the time that sly and rachet were on the scene.

It was either rpgs or shooters for that group.

i spiraled into depression and drinking when i got older so its far more difficult to enjoy new things anymore and form good experiences with them. Remember that episode of South Park where stand starts to see everything as shit? that's essentially what happened to me. everything after that felt lackluster with a nice song, movie and game here and there.

I just came here to post but I'm so anhedonic too, I guess it feels nice to not be alone. life doesn't really feel good except weed, sex is nice but it stresses me out so i avoid it, and i can't get engaged in music, vidya, or people in general for the life of me. On the off chance something feels good, anything that activates that pleasure for me feels stupid immediately after and won't give me the same satisfaction upon returning to it. Maybe i should just take up something like opiates or serial murdering lol

I played the original a lot when I was a kid
I love the remake quite much. Been playing it everyday and getting better at time trials is lots of fun.
But if the inclusion of it makes you sad, you can imagine FF9, Kirby Air Ride or Gran Turismo 4 on its place.

I'd strongly recommend earlier tes games, Daggerfall and Morrowind specifically, play a Breath of Fire as well. for films, since you like neo-noir stuff, I'd recommend Blow Out and Dark City.
