I think about it almost every single day.
I try to figure out a way to remove my personal carbon dioxide emission from the athmosphere. The most likely option is probably planting a shit load of trees and giving that property to some pro nature organization so my grand children don't decide to sell the patch for the worth of the wood. Not like it's gonna change anything, but at least i can die with the knowledge that my blood line didn't contribute to earths destruction.

We knew very little about the climate in the 70s. The possible decreases in our food supply were offset by the withdrawing of the massive underground auqifurs that we still use today. Furthermore, those "predictions" seem to have been made by literally anyone in the 70s, mainstream science has always concluded that global warming will impact humans and does so presently. You need only to look at predictive models and the actual measured temperature to realize scientists are right. It seems denialists like taking statements given by literally any nutcase off the street and passing it as the consensus

Because there's nothing most of us can do about it as long as 90% of the people believe it is a hoax or "appreciate the sunnier weather".
