Do women like to be protected and treated like a princess? I don't know why, but I kind of naturally end up taking a knightly role around women. I do dial it back in public, though, seeing as it'd probably be embarrassing for them. Despite how much I may want to pick her up and carry her around, among other things.
Unfortunately, I've also picked up the habit of constantly surveilling rooms for threats, which I imagine makes me come off as cold sometimes, but I do open up a lot when I'm comfortable. My dad does this, too, but unlike me, not only can he move past that stage after a couple minutes, but during that time he's also picking out who he's going to approach in the room and in the exact order, which works to a surprising extent.
For what it's worth, I've had a relationship like this before, but we were both teenagers at the time, so maybe that's just something people are supposed to grow out of. Or, is that the point where she potentially goes on to become a queen, and me her king?

personally, i think many may think its endearing and a caring thought process, many girls would like being someone's princess (as would i) but the only thing i would be careful of is being too cold in a situation where someone is trying to connect to you :)

Thanks, user. I'm kind of an awkward stone wall at first, but then I just kind of "blossom", I guess, once I feel comfortable around people. It really is night and day. Like, literally one-word responses to full on conversations, cracking jokes and shit. And a lot of regular shows of affection, too.
I guess cold might be the wrong word? Like, I look that way, mainly because I'm actively looking around to ensure my own or someone else's safety if I'm not just thinking about something, but I'm not brushing people off or trying to get away. If anything, I guess I'm just shy, initially.

Fantasy is pretty fun, but I write military science fiction, myself. Or, at least that's the closest thing that matches?
It's an earth-like planet colonized in the future, but as a sort of experiment to see whether mankind would have developed the same way or even destroyed itself were they to discover certain technologies too fast (such as nuclear weaponry), so they basically had the colonists' minds wiped (save for two people who helped set up the first civilization, who are now dead) while basically being fast-tracked through the human tech tree, bit by bit.
I'm also working on a crime novel in the same world which takes place in one of the nations, which hoards most of the modern technology for itself while basically being one central (yet mainly hands-off) government away from an ancap paradise.
Which fantasy books do you like? I still haven't gotten around to reading the greats, unfortunately.
