if you live near a university with a music program they probably have a building with dozens of comfy practice rooms.
might be cringe to actual music students but it's a win/win. you get inspiration and a good learning environment and they get to feel a confidence boost because at least they dont suck as much as you

I used to play cello and I remember obsessively rubbing my nails between the strings on the bow just after I put rosin on it and now whenever I hear a string orchestra I am reminded of that gross feeling of the strings on my nails

In high school I was in marching band, but that was 7 years ago. I never went to college and never played my instrument again. Is it any way feasible that, at 25, I could pick it back up, and join a college marching band?

What instrument? I was a tenor saxophone, I miss it so much and dream every day of being back in marching and jazz band. It was a lot of pressure though and I almost shot myself and developed an ulcer from the stress.
