Sup Robots,
What do you all think about Vaporwave/Outrun/Future Funk etc.
I definitely dig the A E S T H E T I C, and it's pretty comfy music to listen to at night. For some reason, it just doesn't have the same effect during the day.

Currently listening to this weird Kingdom hearts vaporwave.
It's kinda interesting.
For anyone who is curious, the classic vaporwave song is from Macintosh Plus - Floral Shoppe
I always saw Vaporwave and Outrun/Synthwave as two separate entities for different moods, the latter being "edgy badass driving through the night" and the former being "tortured sad bastard finding solace in the mutated sounds of his childhood walking through the night"
Both are excellent. If you haven't listened to any of the tracks from the Devilman Crybaby OST they're absolute fucking bangers.

I've been on a huge kick with it lately. I find a song that I like and listen to it on repeat for hours and hours and hours before moving on to the next one. I eventually come back to all of them. It's been pretty life-changing, and I find that the songs "keep" a lot better than traditional music in terms of re-listen value.
It is hit-or-miss, though. There's a lot of junk mixed in with the funk. You've gotta dig.
I like it very much and I hope to hear more.
They are different entities, but to me they all have that same sense of false nostalgia for a different time.
That being said, I am digging the track you posted. A bit more high energy then what I'm looking for but this is some damn good night driving music.
there's only one good future funk song and it released before this genre birthed

i prefer burger punk
I feel you. At work, "My Mix" on youtube is filled to the brim with future funk.
My current future funk feel is some sort of Vietnamese future funk
While I disagree with you about that, this song is an absolute banger. Thank you for sharing!
I prefer Italo Disco.

Based.
And yeah, that nostalgia really drives the genre, but I think it can survive on it's own without being the product of nostalgia.
Now for some Home, to drown out the night.

Never heard of it before, but I liked what I heard. I gave the genre a quick wiki and apparently when it went into decline - they adapted it into Eurobeat. And I definitely spent a lot of time listening to that!
I won't lie to you, that nostalgia really makes me feel the music. I hate and enjoy wishing I could listen to some funky music in a Japanese disco during the city pop era. Of course that only hits when I'm listening to Plastic Love.

English remix I like:

Started off promising but ended up being garbo. Sorry.
Macintosh Plus is literal meme music and was made as a joke.
This is pretty good.

that whole post screams zoomer. life was never like that, ever.
Ohhhhh yes.....
that's the good shit.
I feel as if i've been transported to a world where the 80's is alive and well and things just kept getting better.
We got flying cars, holodiscs, robot maids, and cuties in ripped jeans and neon colored hair...
It must get tiring hating things that people enjoy.
I've had some incredibly aesthetic moments over the last year desu. Top moment has to be having a cigarette and a beer in a bar in Pakistan while low-fi hiphop played - it was very surreal.
never really been into vaporwave but i think this is cool

let me know what you think if you listen
Zoomer music that consists of slowing down and amplifying the bass of songs then acting like its original. Not even remixing or mashing up multiple songs. Pretty damn lazy.
