so i was in a program that had a bunch of younger people come together and do 'orientation' for a month which was really just a shitfest of drinking and getting to know eac other. most of us didnt have phones when we got in so we didnt have any way to contact each other beyond fb messaging. the first weekend a group of maybe 10 of us decided to go to seoul and there was a clusterfuck at the train station and i elected to stay behind and let everyone else just get on the leaving train since i at elast knew some korean. got another ticket and arrived an hour or two later. didnt have any way to contact them so i thought id just pop by a pc bang and message a friend. couldnt find one for a while so i walked on until i ran into finally one. it said 'sungin' which means adult but i was like no way and walked up the stairs. a dark ass room and the guy at the desk led me to a solo room down a dark hallway. the desktop was FILLED with porn. folders named by date filled by japanese and american porn from the month or two before that day. dark room, tissues on the side. i went straight to fb to message my friend and found they were all waiting at some nearby station. decided to have a wank before i left sincei paid for it lol.

Was thinking of doing JET. How hard is the job, i know that you don't need to no japanese(i want to do the Japan one), but is teaching hard? Like what do you do all class? Also do you have to be an expert public speaker.

a friend of mine did JET and had a miserable time but said the work was easy. she just was running away from her shit at the time which i think was a bad choice thinking life ina new place would fix it all up. i think JET is more solid than my program was and you need to either have or be given set syllabuses

i dont know anything about you or your situation so its hard for me to really say what will and wont work. a change of scenery may help many people but i think you shold really take some time and think about your life or issues in your life before making a big commitment like that. i hope it does help but i also saw many people in my short time who thought they could find themselves by running away and endeed up feeling more alienated

uk always sounded nice to me but idk if that just grass is greener or not. been to france just once as my only trip to europe and that was fun. if you could choose one country to travel to right now where it would be user? itd be japan or germany for me

nah i hooked up with another girl in the program and then hooked up with 2 more korean girls during my time there. this was around 4-5 years ago
i knew some korean before i went and didnt really learn much more. im working at a publishing company now and while im not sure my time teaching in korea helped im sure it didnt hurt. where are you thikning of teaching user?
