So here's the deal...

So here's the deal. Once you've read and studied enough you'll come to the conclusion that there really is no surefire way to make it in this world because everything has been done. My passion was music, but through philosophical thought I understood that music is essentially dead. Music peaked during the Baroque period through the Classical period and has been slowly declining ever since, with a brief resurgence in experimentation during the jazz period (which was just atonal garbage). Music will eventually become nothing but a bass line, a drum beat, and chant-like sung vocals or rap vocals. You can hear evidence of this in Lorde's music or Billie Eilish's music. Minimalism has taken over. All music, because of the rise of EDM and globalist internet, has been homogenized into one big genre-clashing mashup. EDM died with Skrillex.

I say all that to say that creativity is dead, and only a few people will come up with something that makes a small splash. The same could be said for drawn and painted art. It could also be said for the corporate world - the greedy capitalists and Jews have it locked down through nepotism. Be a NEET. Collect disability.

Pursue a life of nihilist hedonistic pleasures. That is all there is left. Believe me.

wtf youre absolutely right. its true.

imagine yourself reading this post 7 years from now and the embarrassment you're causing future you
you sound like an absolute fedora
>pop music SUUUUcks dude
wow what an insightful point of view
mongoloid
go on /mu/ every once and a while and listen to something new

the sad part s this applies to writing too; and ai will surpass us even at that

why did you want to pursue music in the first place? was it really your passion to begin with at all? this is all so whiny and just reads like a big excuse to not make music
"waaah music is bad right now im not even going to try ughhhfgff *sharts *farts* THE JEWS asghdfnnnnnn"

Social mobility is alive and well, at least in America.

>Born poor, Black, single parent, many kids
>Worked hard during college, law school
>Landed a bigfirm job with a 190K salary

You have to not make excuses. Be willing to work harder than the average person, do it consistently, and you will get more than average (read mediocre/typical) results.

A new tool album literally released TODAY, user.

There is nothing new. I've been listening. Guitar music has all been done. Electronic music peaked with Justice's "Cross" album where the dubstep wubs started, and then finalized with Skrillex. Now it's just the rehashing of the past. It's dead dude. Art and creativity is dead. The synthesizer, which was referred to as the instrument of the future, has been experimented with to completion. There are no truly new sounds to make. You sound young.
Yes, it applies to absolutely everything. We are at a creative dead end and were born just in time to witness the stall.
No. I wanted to make new electronic music, but it died with Justice's "Cross" album. This is a fact for anyone who's studied electronic music (the genre that's been most experimented with in the 2000s).
And it still sounds just like Tool's old albums. It's all the same. Not groundbreaking.

>Music peaked during the Baroque period through the Classical period
I think it peaked (or at least ended) with tonal modernists like pre-Neoclassical Stravinsky.
After that, it went off the rails with serialism and other unnatural, unmelodic compositional techniques.
This is what passes for classical music today:
>youtube.com/watch?v=duUQIUqQvgA

While I agree art is sorta in a weird phase, I think writing can still remix new ideas together. Sometimes I read a story and go, whoa, what a great spin. Even if the story is the same of good vs evil/growth/whatever, it is still great to see new details in a way i haven't thought before.

the lyrics are so weak

>No. I wanted to make new electronic music, but it died with Justice's "Cross" album. This is a fact for anyone who's studied electronic music (the genre that's been most experimented with in the 2000s).

man i was going to reply an actual reply but i see you're posting tranny porn, maybe the world truly is better without your music! dont try to make any please.

Our lives have gotten to the stage where all we knows is what has been fed to us. There's a world out there that needs help and craves new ideas, but many of us have simply gotten lost in a world that isn't real at all. It feels so sweet and empowers us with "knowledge", but we never actually use it.

I hate the tranny music made by that SOPHIE character. My sexual interests have nothing to do with the music. I'm just stating what is obvious to anyone who really analyzes music.

I rly dont agree tho. I mean they didnt completely flip themselves on their head but then again artists rarely do. It still feels to me like they rly experimented with new ideas beyond the basics tho. The fact that they dont have to get radioplay anymore means they can go all out and make all the songs dynamic 10-15 minute epics.
Which ones? Bc I like the lyrics

major yikes from me

you can definitely be a nihilist hedonist waste of space, i'm not going to stop you. I will argue you on that music is dead and has been dead since the baroque period.

In my opinion music never really caught it's stride until the impressionist and minimalist movements of classical music. Baroque and Romantic era musical pieces were just as derivative as all other popular music genres, especially theory wise. When composers like Debussey and Arvo Part started pushing boundaries and trying to make something new it set the precedent for all music to come that just making fancy etudes with the same chord progressions and marginally different melodies. I'll give you jazz, some of the most exciting experimentation in music came from jazz, but that same level of excitement extends to all sorts of genres. The post-hardcore movement that birthed emo and mathrock and other exciting rock genres was huge. it took the gay political grandstanding of the hardcore and punk movements and made it personal and about the musicians feelings. Krautrock in Germany took the broken culture of fascist germany and made some of the greatest psychedelic prog rock of all time. Industrial and noise pushed boundaries of what music could be. Even early 2000s pop was fun and bright and really made something great out of dance music. Artist like Lady Gaga did some great stuff. It isn't complex but it's trying and fun and sounds good and catchy. what else is music about?

you clearly have a superiority complex. Music is beautiful and always has been. you just don't want to find the beauty in things because you think it's cool to be sad and nihilistic.

Moral of the story is when you graduate high school and find god you'll realize how cringe this entire phase in your life is

maybe make electronic music based on classical approaches to composing music

Nope. That's already been done. They've taken classical music by Mozart and all the others and fused it with EDM beats. It's over dude. It's all homogenized and music will die a slow, bland death until all music is African tribal chants.

Attached: tumblr_mkxf29MoXY1rxlrpio7_400.gif (400x225, 937K)

Yikes chief, if you think cross is the peak of electronic music you've really not done your due diligence. It's a great album don't get me wrong but flying lotus is still pushing boundaries and he's super popular.

and what are you smoking? have you even taken a second to hop on bandcamp and listen to some of the rock people have been making? catchy emo and pop punk tracks are getting made all the time. plenty of jazzy math rock bands are putting out exciting stuff all the time. You just want to give up

Attached: 1560922405453.jpg (2299x2048, 476K)

No. It's all been done. There is no groundbreaking work for the past decade since Skrillex. The most "innovative" music now is the fusing of rap and country in that Lil Nas X song. It's all garbage.

>taking mozart and making it edm
>the same as composing music based on a classical aproach
go out there and make the electronic pet sounds or something dude geez stop being such a cunt
also stop watching tranny porn

t. brainlet that cannot conceive of innovative and new ideas

The fact you have a low opinion of jazz, a high option of Skrillex, and post tranny porn means you're a brainlet.

It's already been done. You're misunderstanding it from the pov of a philosopher. There is no way to make truly groundbreaking music. The synthesizer was the hotbed of innovation for many years. Justice added distortion to their music, made a few wubs, and Skrillex squeezed out the last of them.
Wrong.
I don't have a high opinion of Skrillex. He simply took electronic music to its limits. Now it's all the same and will continue to be the same for a while until African tribal chants are the norm.

ok then don't listen to electronic music in the mainstream anymore, problem solved. Today alone I found three new contemporary bands that make music I've never heard done exactly like them before. Earth tongue makes really melodic lightning bolt style bass and drum metal with haunting choral vocals over their tracks. Super haunting but still has a driving instrumental under it. Pool kids is a female fronted emo band with great hooks and very technical song writing. Glass beach is something really special, they're a group of super talented songwriters who take influences from all sorts of genres and create something special. If you don't care you can give up but you'll be missing out on some really special stuff

You stopped taking the redpills too soon and became a depressed sadboi when you should have kept going.
Keep doing your research you're almost there.
This destruction of individual creativity has happened numerous times before and each time it's been followed closely by the society collapsing under itself and the cycle restarting all over again.
Of course everything's been done before, that's not the point. The reason Billie Eilish gets radio play is because the ones who are aware of this cycle of societies knows what's next and have been planning for it.
You're so close to being dead on it, we all have purpose for being here and it isn't to sing the songs of lucifer or build temples to moloch.

I knew that by the time I was starting high school

Nigger, of course you'll find nothing new if you only look at top 40

Anything with a fucking guitar in it is instantly 0/10, wow, what a big revelation
>le hedonism is the answer
Yeah and you're the first 17 year old underachiever to think of that, very smart. Grow up

>he's attempting to sound smart
It's just a saying dude. There's no easy way to get anything. The game is rigged. It's all a sham. Be a NEET and get disability. You will never make it, and the time you waste is time you could spend having degenerate sex or playing video games or whatever. I'm a twenty-seven year old millennial, and yeah, we were lied to a lot. Pursue no delusions of grandeur you may have. I've seen a cousin of mine try all of these different jobs, going from woman to woman, ending up in jail, whatever. He never made it and simply floundered despite being more charming than I am. I've come to the point where I just don't care. It's a completely rigged game. Don't even worry about it.

reading this whole thread makes me feel like im too old for Jow Forums now

Art is eternal, always find a new shape. You are limited by your personal taste. Thats your problem.
Every new invention give us a new way to create art, from a machine that makes sounds to a filter in a social media, everything is there to be use and create a new thing.
The problem is that you cant think as a true artist, you are in love of an aesthethical movement, like for example, the baroque style.
>When did art was born?
the first time a human expressed a feeling.
>How art become a thing?
When someone grabbed something that was made for a pourpuse and use it to create something new.
>How?
There was a tool. That tool was made to cut something. this dude hit another tool and made a sound, then started to keep a beat, then someone add a groove. And there music was born.
>Another example
Some dude was chewing berries. He see the juice, he cleaned his hand in the wall. Saw the stain, gave a shape to that stain, and suddenly, the guy is an artist.

So, the thing is, art is born every time someone has a new idea on how to use a tool or you can even say, any substance in existance.
Yeah, you may love baroque and jazz, but there is a lot more to find. Just, be creative.

There is no way. Everything has been done dude. Sampling is considered a big thing in music, but it's all using old recordings. That's not new. Taking things you find around the house and recording them to make sound collages is not new. It's desperation to find something new is what it is, and for any creative, philosophically-minded individual it signals the death knell of art. You cannot expand on music styles because everything has been explored. It's all over.

Attached: 1280x720.7.jpg (1280x720, 61K)

How narrow-minded...
With a bigger pile of gold comes a bigger pile of shit.
It is not that there is no innovative music or art being produced, it is that you can't find it and most people are complacent about that.
The mainstream has never and will never put innovative content on the front lines. Video killed the radio star, remember? Innovation hurts tyrants, it hurts monopolies.
If anything the corporate world is trying to HIDE creative works that are being produced en masse. However, that is drastically different than creativity being dead, as you claim.

Everything absolutely has not been done. We would be gods if that were true. There is always something we can improve and change, that is the undying essence of innovation.

Attached: nf56.jpg (1200x1200, 210K)

Completely devoid of intellect and critical thought. Hopelessly optimistic and a lack of foresight. Guitar music has all been done. It's dead. Synthesizer maxed out with Skrillex. End of.

>There is no way. Everything has been done dude
Nah... you are just not creative enough.
Sorry mate. It looks like being an artist is not your thing. Best luck with your next project.
Just in case you wanna know:
I have 2 albums released by real labels (not soundcloud shit) that got good critics in diferent continents. I also wrote a few drama plays that where actually on stage and people paid to see. Also produced a few artist, and have my paintings and sculptures on display in exibits.
You will never be an artist without passion for life and curiosity to try new stuff. You may love some styles of music and other artistic expressions, but for the shit you put in this thread, i can totally see that you are not an artist, just a pedantic bitch.

NOTHING you have done is new. You are rehashing the past. I know this without even viewing your work.

that is just your opinion, and thanks god, it has the same value than used toilet paper.
Keep the mediocre life bro, it suits you well.

Why do you think people have to do "new" things? Many of the world's best painters sticked strictly to a cannon that told them how and what to paint.

The idea that you have to be a revolutionary genius who creates something new was born in the romantic period and is heightened by today's individualism.

At the end of the day art is about creating beauty independently of the social context, history, or how much innovation it can produce.

>atonal
>garbage
you really know nothing about music if you think this

post your music lol I bet it's derivative shite
t.trained jazz drummer of 15yrs that agrees with OP

There's a reason Hitler hated jazz.

>t.trained jazz drummer of 15yrs that agrees with OP
let me translate that for humans:
>Faggot who can play an instrument but plays constantly the same shitty book in the same shitty jazz jams cos he is too cool to play pop, but secretly wishes to be hired as a sessionist for a mainstream musician to be able to pay rent and be known.
Im not going to post my music, but not cos im afraid of the critique from some randos on the internet, im not going to post it cos i dont give a fuck about your opinion.

Anything can be an instrument. You're inability to think outside the norm is where you fail. You seriously don't think there is any sounds outside those produced by the major instruments in the world? That's like saying there's nothing outside Jow Forums or reddit. You lack critical thought.
It's okay, there's real creative people out there to take your place.

>Bro just be a NEET and live off government money, there is no point to trying to make it in this world
Why am I not surprised that a "femboy" lover is a fucking retard. It is still very much possible to create defining art in the modern era and just because there's a lot of garbage being produced doesn't mean that you are incapable of creating something that isn't.
>inb4 but the masses will just prefer to consume their garbage!
Yes, there is obviously an issue with people not seeking out better art and just consuming garbage at the moment. This doesnt mean that if you promote yourself that people will consume whatever art you produce and enjoy it and tell others about it, you may not get onto some trending list but there will be still be lots of people who enjoy whatever it is that you've created and share it with others and create a legacy for it.

Living the NEET life means living a life of consumerism where you can consume lots of different art and learn from it, but never put the things you have experienced together and create something new from any of it. If this is something you can live with then go for it, but otherwise I really dont think this lifestyle is a good choice
Based.

>implying I only play jazz
>implying being a session player for ANY radio level musician pays the rent these days
You are not a musician. You are a marketer, a wave rider, a sellout. You say you work for a label. Let me translate that for humans:
>faggot who needs other people to produce and promote his drone music, book his tours/shows, take pictures at shows, work his social media, buy drugs for him and wipe his ass when he passes out and shits himself on the tour bus
Hope you got power of attorney (you don't) or else you wouldn't be held back from posting your garbage music to receive real criticism that's not paid for by your handlers. Seriously, go fuck yourself. You're the reason why talent and creativity doesn't pay the bills anymore.

You're a child without perspective of nuance

>destroys your entire worldview

Attached: soe.jpg (1000x1000, 160K)

You took that long just to post a shitty attempt of copying my style? lmao.
Btw, i produced all the music in my albums, played all the instruments and even did the mastering.
Seethe more loser.
