I'm actually not that intimidated by girls like in pic related, it's partly a mystery and partly because I have gotten chicks more or less on their level before, so it's easier for me to see them as just another person, albeit a fairly lucky one. I'm in the same boat man. The intimidating factor you mention is further compounded because I don't have any experience with women at all in a friendly or romantic way. Nothing happened for me in high school or my undergrad years in college, I don't think anything will happen while I'm in graduate school too. They're just there and I'm invisible to them. Since starting college back in 2014, I've come to view them as museum pieces. I'm not sure if or when I'll step over the velvet rope and touch the exhibit.

Women like your picture go for the "Chad" type because Chad is spending 2 or 3 hours a day at the gym, eating right and becoming more confident.
