Yeah, VX2. I'm very happy with it, the build quality is solid, there is no noise and its even got a bass boost function if you push the volume dial in.

This fall I will need a laptop for CAD stuff. Needs to last at least 3 years. Looking at swapping in an I7-4700MQ and whatever SSD I have lying around.

It is a DAC, its got USB and optical inputs.
I don't use headphones with this one. I have a VX1 which I do though.
