PSA

I store personal files to mega (sensitive files to encrypted .7z)

and also in a mechanical HDD that is for backups only, disconnected sitting in a drawer.

The hard drive will be ok, right? I plug it in once every 2 weeks or so.

I thank God everyday that I learned about data loss as a child when my Pokemon Gold Version deleted itself. It was traumatizing enough to set me on the course of weakly backups as an adult when my data actually matters.

Backing up stuff is fine and all but what I actually want most is backing up the install registry/windows so you don't get a ton of programs or games broken even though you did backed them up.

Ok bros, I got Deja Dup to backup my home folder. How do I generate a list of all the packages installed on my system and how, in case of failure, do I use that list to restore my system? Ubuntu 18.04, btw
