News: Vinnie gets doxxed APL email invite system currently down Sony Music Entertainment acknowledges existence of JPS
They don't have a huge selection of encode releases, or at least not as many as you'd expect for a private site, & their full BR discs typically only last a year or two before running out of seeders. But the remuxes are always seeded & they have a really good internal group sending them out. Just get to avistaz on open signup & you can get an invite when you have 400Gb up.
Caleb Edwards
its not vinnie search previous threads for more context
Use all your FL tokens on things literally like a mb under 2gb like apps and wait a month and the points literally can't stop coming in
Jaxon Thomas
IanRankin waits exactly one month to send invites. Why? idk, kinda dumb but whatever. I got mines famalam.
Owen Torres
By filling requests?
Xavier Russell
give him a visit and ask if the BLU->HDB meme is real
Xavier Butler
That's not the point, mate. My internet is absolutely horrid and upload speed is like 20kbps, you have no idea how much I rely on BP to purchase upload credit. I'm never gonna get into the invite forums without it. On JPS and GGn I have 20TB of upload and
Hunter Miller
Fucking upload some bandcamp shit or just transcode, stop acting like a crybaby
Levi King
on APL? just rip CDs from the library, autosnatchers are on everything bruh. Even with 20 kb/s up you'll get a GB per day upload
Gavin Lopez
wanna build my own torrent site and tracker. I know, this may sound lame.
I'm not a perfect SysAdmin, but have set up my own file server, samba, etc and have a good knowledge of Linux and I'm concentrating on Networking right now, to go further. I know HTML, CSS and Python( web scraping is my specialization) I'm planning to learn Javascript next. I've been learning about different torrent sites, what technologies they use and other stuff. It's obvious that I need guidance. Can someone tell if the path I'm going right now is correct? How should I proceed?
Any help or guide is very much appreciated:)
tl;dr Wanna build my own torrent site and tracker. Need thoughts and guide.
There's nothing worthwhile in the invite section, don't waste your time.
Brayden Carter
I think it's pretty obvious that you are a very new self-taught amateur, a new student, or some other path that still does not give you the real world experience necessary for building a successful tracker.
Keep learning but pick a different project. It won't look good in the long run anyway.
When you are actually ready to apply for jobs, having personal projects to show will be a good thing. However, if you find yourself one day interviewing at Netflix and they find out you used to run a torrent site (regardless of what content you are hosting) your resume would move very quickly to the shredder. You would have cost yourself a good job with a recognizable company because of some dumb nonsense you did when you were just starting out.
Oliver Davis
If you have to ask about making a torrent site on Jow Forums then you probably shouldn’t be making a torrent site.
Jayden Allen
there are pay2pirate cucks in the thread right now
Kayden Torres
>just got my APL invite >now I have to upload 50 torrents that I have already uploaded to JPS
Why is getting to PU on any PT the most mundane and tedious task?
libgen is usable and not run for-profit, neither of which apply to MAM
Xavier Morris
libgen does not have the warmth and the friendliness
Luke Reyes
Two things that been bugging me a while...
1) If you see a 720p and 1080p torrent from the same source and the 1080p is like only 20% bigger than the 720p I should just get the 720p, right?
2) Is there an easy hotkey or macro-able keyboard string in qBittorrent to pick the last used save path? In uTorrent I just had to hit the down arrow twice but on qBit it seems like this doesn't work since sometimes the default path actually winds up below the last used one in the dropdown for some reason
Samuel Wilson
Actually for #2 it seems like going up rather than going down is what I want, but the problem is I can't find an easily predictable way to know how many times I'll have to go up. Combinations of home & other keys don't seem to work for "go to top result" I could just set a macro to mash the up key a shitload of times but that feels inelegant.
Owen Baker
>thinking that pastebin was Vinnie's info >not knowing Vinnie and one of the other BLU devs doxxed themselves long ago
Jayden Morgan
i wanna fug dorothy
Owen Lee
>1) I should just get the 720p, right? Usually. If it's a WEB-DL go for the 720p in those cases, with 1080p you'll need to read release notes and check screenshots.
Imagine empornium except you're only allowed to upload cuck shit. That's db9
Mason Bell
db9 was my first private tracker. I don't think with red you really need it anymore, but it has some rare still that is worthwhile. It's kind of one of those things where once you grab the hard-to-find stuff then you don't really need it much anymore since no good dnb comes out anymore.
Why the fuck so few series are in 4k? Almost everything is shitty 1080p and 720p.
Brayden Turner
Do NOT get into 4k. Fucking storage is killing me. There are very few encodes, so you're always downloading a Remux .
Game of Thrones 4k would be over a terabyte on its own I think.
Austin Sullivan
So? Just delete it after you're done with it?
Zachary Myers
>Dorothy managed to be Best Girl despite being used goods This must be power of the loli.
Jacob Miller
it takes one to spot one
Connor James
NoU
Ian Howard
I store stuff. I think this private tracker thing is going to end. We're all a bunch of aging boomers and people just stream now.
Mason Cruz
>I store stuff instead of watching it Good to know.
Landon Watson
I wanna get fugged by Dorothy.
Jonathan Morales
I watch it but then I don't delete it. GoT I know is pleb but I want to watch it again with 4k and Dolby Atmos. My NAS isn't going to have storage though so I'll have to keep it on an external drive.
Brody Moore
>I store stuff instead of watching it I know. I on the other hand only keeps around stuff that might be hard to get at some point again in the future, things I have yet to watch, and my true favorites I want to actually help share with the userbase of my tracker.
I see no point in keeping things I've already seen if I can just download them again at some point in time.
Nicholas Morales
I guess my concern is that at some point I won't be able to get access to this stuff so easily. I try to seed the rare stuff the most also.
Lincoln Rogers
>shows that get released on 4k >rare stuff If it got released on BD it's not rare. It's mainstream trash you can find from 20 different online distributors.
Jacob Morales
I'm saying that BTN and HDB might be gone and the zoomers don't give a fuck about torrenting so once the HDBs admin goes into the retirement home or gets shut down we might not have such easy access to stuff.
Brody Ross
..also BTN it is against the rules to re-download
Oliver Scott
dumb question: will plex deliver the same quality as watching videos on vlc locally?
Asher Edwards
Who else here really excited for the Criterion Bergman box? Lots of 1080p versions of his movies coming soon!
Luke Lopez
>vlc Probably better quality than that shit, even after re-encoding.
Connor Miller
Are you seriously suggesting piracy will be curtailed in our lifetime? It may go back to being harder to gain a foothold for the kind of burgerstain that needs to do an interview, but the content will always be available if you put effort in and have something to provide. Since when? That rule obviously isn't enforced because there are a couple of shows I've downloaded two or three times when I wanted to show others. No, Plex is garbage when it comes to local playback. Use kodi (with an external player if filtering) if everything will be on the same LAN. Also drop VLC.
Asher Butler
1080p 8mbps vs 1080p 20mbps on plex, higher better?
Lucas Hernandez
Depends on source quality and encoding settings.
Daniel Rivera
im using seedbox with plex
Brayden Williams
You can use the Plex Player, yes. I'd run a local plex server though for best results, depending on what you are trying to stream. I mean 4k Atmos content is pretty rough to stream on the extreme end.
Asher Phillips
I'm not sure. Trackers might become less and less popular as kids get used to Netflix and that. I don't think really young people bother to torrent anymore, do they? Seems like it's all 25-35 year olds now.
No re-downloading has always been in their rules.
Kayden Ross
>25-35 year olds where did you get that number from, your ass?
Dylan Baker
do any transcodes get auto snatched on red? or only Flac?
Isaac Morris
That's your typical 90's kids who grew up with Napster/Limewire in their teens; your prime modern PT users.
