Based lenovo has actually fixed S3 sleep for X1C6 with a bios update.
(New) Support Optimized Sleep State for Linux in ThinkPad Setup - Config - Power.

>what are actual alternatives to the tablet variants in the Thinkpad series (latitude/elitebook) if any (the w700 is fine, but I want a capacitive screen);

What I want is a portable Linux-capable laptop with a digitizer screen that I can both work on my art commissions and study with. Been considering buying an iPad plus an apple pencil from eBay, but the lack of an actual keyboard is a nono for programming purposes.
