What happened to the world?

Don't think too hard about these things goyim. There's a new superhero movie on Netflix. Some skank is pregnant. Assad is gassing his own people! Unbelievable! Have a burger, it's good for you!

People are trapped in a dreamlike state by the drug-induced soma of modern technology that they're tricked into thinking they can't live without.

user bluepill is the ultimate red pill

Today's society does well to keep the masses busy, they don't have time to worry about long term issues until they're much older. People are lusting for safety and security because as they've grown up, they, for some reason, came to realize that those are the best things that they can hope to achieve. It's all about "don't let tomorrow be worse than today". Now all you need to do is call Snowden a traitor and there you go: he is now easy to hate because the populace feels threatened. And considering the public gets at least one new enemy every day, he is quickly forgotten.

Nobody really believes in long term goals past global warming, and even that's a maybe. People will tell you to work for your country, but they don't believe in that either and most take themselves way too seriously considering. Humanity has no vision, and the advances in technology seem to "fix" and push "progress" instead of the people wielding it. There are principles and culture, but they're still here simply because they were valued before, and that value is lost on those here today.

One needs the masses to think, plan and strive on long term goals for things such as privacy to matter.

the old war is piece trick doesn't work anymore, back to shill school with you

Anything important going on is just slid under the rugs and replaced with things extremely unimportant like some stupid hurricane, or celebrities, movies. It's a magic trick governments have been playing on their people for years now.

The problem is the source of the leaks shouldn't matter. Assange doesn't care where leaks are sourced from, so long as they are genuine (which forensics also confirmed as genuine). He has always maintained that the site upholds his philosophy of "radical transparency."

The WikiLeaks affair is just people upset because they assumed that the site was in favor of their political ideologies due to past leaks. Truth should be more important than where the information comes from, but it isn't to most people.

Snowden still comes up occasionally and wikileaks blew it by being exposed as a russian shill front. They haven't released anything interesting in years

As for all the spying nobody got mad enough to do anything so it's just been accepted. Be the change you want to see, OP

not thinking in advance and in long term doesnt separate us from the sheep and dogs
its a global dumbing down of people never before seen in history because apparently all they neededw as a smartfone attached to every human
