Chipsets all produce eDP/DP internally, there has to be an additional converter to produce HDMI.
eg, laptop displays are all native eDP.

the only tinting you could possibly get from hdmi is if youre in tv output instead of monitor. its a fucking digital cable. it doesnt matter what the the connector is as long as it has the bandwidth.
