While I won't judge people on their choice of DE/WM, I will state that wmaker is the mark of a refined, mature, and intelligent person.
Just finished compiling firefox
Now the hardest part is to make this useable
Here you go user. Had to track it down because I accidentally didn't save the source before downscaling it.
Are you that one gentooman from the last thread?
I rate it a purple/10
i liked ur desktop more when u were less ingratiating
Shut the fuck up fag
What's that file manager?
also liked it double more when yui and azusa were holding hands
This is working for me right now.
>Are you that one gentooman from the last thread?
Nah I just got firefox setup a few minutes ago
Nemo
I don't really know what you mean user, I just like being nice to people.
God DAMN that's a bigass drawer. By the way, any reason you're using FreeBSD? I was always more of a fan of NetBSD myself (I run my home server with it.)
>all this Window Maker
nice
>Are you that one gentooman from the last thread?
Nah I just got firefox setup a few minutes ago
thank you. here
cdn.scrot.moe
being nice to ppl is fine
but if your nice to everyone, it means nothing in the end and in the end you meant nothing
>dark theme
Is there a bigger indicator of garbage taste?
Nice prose retard.
Thanks user. In return, here's another comfy wallpaper with a more relevant seasonal aesthetic (at least down south where I live)
>but if your nice to everyone, it means nothing in the end and in the end you meant nothing
I'm not nice to everyone, especially Arch Linux users because they're fags.
yes, using windows though I do have to give you credit for being a fellow footfag. that's a well drawn foot
It is a little big may need to break it up a bit.
FreeBSD because it was the first Open Source BSD I got attached too. This is the first time I’ve ran it on a laptop (ThinkPad X1C6). Things have been good but I’m considering a switch to OpenBSD since their devs seem to use the OS more frequently as a daily driver which doesn’t seem to be the case with FreeBSD folks. NetBSD sounds great have you tried any of the other BSD?
ok so either you cant tell its arch and you like it or you can tell and you dislike it
i totally respect your ideas mmore now
I love and appreciate OpenBSD, but I don't want to upgrade my operating system every 6 months, and I like having things like WINE. I use Slackware for this very reason. I tried using FreeBSD for a month and it was alright, but I felt it was kind of cheap that the developers didn't even use their own operating system. I'll give that it's better than Linux, but that's not saying much. I feel that NetBSD is really underappreciated, especially given how active their development efforts are now, even noting some of their major setbacks like not so great code quality (which is the main thing Linux also struggles with.)
For the sake of breaking up shitposting in a comfy thread, there hasn't been anything bad posted in this thread so far, and even so I'm not one to harshly judge peoples' user preferences as long as they're happy (except GNOME because fuck GNOME it's the gayest shit on earth.) My opinions on Arch, is that most Arch users are people who are too stupid to use Gentoo, and don't use better alternatives such as Void because of meme points. "I use Arch btw" is a meme for a reason, and I can't fathom in my mind why someone would want to subject themselves to it. Although, if I see a good desktop in Arch, I will give it a thumbs up. I think you make too big a deal out of these things. Desktop threads are supposed to be comfy user.
didnt read this
lol fr
gnome is alright
Looks like shit. Kill yourself
I’m using some gnome apps like calendar because it helps with work, also gnome text editor is really good, so is the terminal emulator and nautilus ain’t so fucking bad.
Would love though if y’all have other recommendations to replace these apps.
The fact that FreeBSD devs don’t use the operating system and just use macOS is really fucking annoying. And despite the love the community gets their forums are a mess of what seems like antiquated users who barely know how to use the system, can’t write any code, and think that the difficulty of configuring ACPI system mapping to key codes is completely justified. It’s pathetic.
OpenBSD has a pretty cool community of hackers, I just haven’t been exposed to the netBSD crowd though. We’ll see, I have an OpenBSD VM right now I’ve been trying to compile some of the apps I work on for a living and there’s been some fucking headaches due to the obscurity of the OS. Which sucks and likely means I could have a lot of porting work to do if I really want to make the switch for work.
sperg of the year
I need a better terminal for w10
what if you just be nice to the people you naturally nice too instead of thinking about it eitherway

Yeah it bums me out too. Sorry you gotta deal with that user.
>OpenBSD has a pretty cool community of hackers
Theo is based. A wise man who cherishes the value of ideas you get from a cold beer.
> I just haven’t been exposed to the netBSD crowd though
It's not very big, but the ones who linger around in their IRC are very helpful in my experience. Apparently NetBSD is really big in free software circles in Japan, so that's pretty cool I guess.
> We’ll see, I have an OpenBSD VM right now I’ve been trying to compile some of the apps I work on for a living and there’s been some fucking headaches due to the obscurity of the OS
I went through hell trying to compile fteqw (a quakeworld sourceport I use) on OpenBSD. It's allegedly officially supported if you look at the changelogs too. You take what you can get on OpenBSD, but it's still a virtuous effort.

Anyone have a personal homepage template I could borrow?

Looks really good. Nice file browser and colors. It might be better without shadows.
cute
I don't think the transparent terminals mesh well with the wallpaper, because the wallpaper's text interferes with the terminal's. But it's a nice wallpaper.
OpenBSD reporting in.
