>How many of you own a domain name?
Yes. I used to own a few, but I let all but one lapse.
The one I use currently is for an email server mainly.
>How did you come up with your domain name?
It's my lastname + country TLD. There is an overlap between the letters, so it makes the domain extra swanky.
I'm not tell you what it is, though.
>Recommended places to buy from?
I've bought from Dynadot in the past. I have no real complaints.
It's not where my current domain is purchased from, though.

I own my firstname+lastname.net and my online alias .com
Mostly just use em for email

Namecheap is fine

Any issues with giving your domain to other people, like misspelling? My surname gets misspelled often and so I'm hesitating about using it for my domain name. It's not for anything important it'd just be a pain.

Yes
Based on my lifestyle
namecheap.com is what I researched and apparently ghandi is also good

>Based on my lifestyle
It's a porn site isn't it

I own my first+lastname.com. I've owned it for like 16 years now. I thought I would be a big deal and actually have a use for it by this point in my life. But since I've become a failure, it's just my registrar's parking page.

>tfw still have ex's name .moe

initial + lastname . countryTLD
I tell myself it's a portfolio for my web design work but really it's just so I can have a cool email address.
I use Namecheap both for the domain and hosting. Could probably get a better hosting deal but I don't really give a shit.

Yes, 64 of them.
My clients chose the names.
Namecheap tbqh, also good for hosting, unless you're looking for specific TLDs that aren't available through Namecheap.

I maintain 64 websites for tech illiterate business owners. They pay may from €10 to €500 a month depending on the complexity of the websites. Best part is that all of them cost me €40 a year to keep online.

Also, the email spam is unreal, I get hundreds of pajeet emails every week offering to build me ios apps or some shit.

Anyone here using bind9 as dns sever? I just got my domain, planing to use it for mail but i have a lot of issues with dns records. my spf, dmarc etc are setup as they should but mxtools or postmaker from google fail to see TXT records. Anyone have any tips for noob like me ?

Post some maybe? More broken English == better

Use this
mailinabox.email
Easy to setup and it will do it all for you.

>namecheap recommendations
i purchased a domain from them about 5 years ago and they wanted a scan of my passport before completing, fuck that
namesilo didnt need this (or godaddy in the past but the whois privacy was better with namesilo for some reason)

I have filtered the most common keywords to go directly to spam, which is autodeleted every other day, but I'll find some in a minute.

>one
>by choosing a few names, sleeping a few weeks over it and asking friends if they like it
>I have only used Namecheap. They're OK

Namecheap never asked me for any identification, I have bought around 40 domains from them, I also host all my websites on namecheap too.

mylastname.xyz

Dont know what to use it for besides email and a landing page rn.

Most of them are copy and paste generic shit like this.

>How many of you own a domain name?
i don't know?
>How did you come up with your domain name?
checked with TLDS i could afford, ran it through a word/phraselist, checked which were available, chose the one i liked the most
Recommended places to buy from?
i use namecheap now, they are allright.

I must have flagged some security check or they know I am a terrorist

Thanks! I hope it works

>not firstname or first/middle [email protected]

I own one, but not doing a lot with it yet. Wanted to reserve the name really. Got business plans. The name comes from the name our old dogs were registered under with The Kennel Club, weirdly enough. They're all dead now and the name means nothing, but it's stuck with me for years. In the UK, use Krystal. Can't rate them highly enough.

here are some domains that i decided against
macaro.ni
lu.ng
laten.cy
extrachee.se
darkflowe.rs
lied.to

I have a doman

It's my name

I got mine through google domains

There aren't many that haven't been deleted, this is the last one I could find on my phone.

My domain name is unitythememe.github.io because it's free. I chose it because it had to be my username.github.io in order for the site to work.

>I own a .moe address, my friends and I use it for mumble/game/torrent servers and they pitch in for hosting costs.
>Came up with the name from one of our autistic in jokes.
>I've only heard good things about namecheap.

It's convenient to have so we don't need to memorize IP addresses. Only downside is that since it's a generally unknown domain, most web filter software blocks it. I got it added to bluecoat though under the category of "technology" though so now I can access it at work.

That's a bad username, but a nice color scheme

I used to setup meme domains with freenom, but they kept terminating them because I host pirated shit openly, lol.
There are cheaper ones but I use: njal.la/

Why register a domain just to show a youtube video?

To collect IPs

haram.life

for wat

my initials + .me
Google domains

Every time you visit a website, a little part of your IP's soul is stolen.
That's why dynamic IPs are a thing. To give the poor guy's a rest. :(
