friendly reminder that recommending phones without a headphone jack is discouraged

Nah.

>GEE BILL!

need suggestions to replace my old piece of shit samsung galaxy grand prime

open to anything under 600 bucks

recommend me a phone under $350 usd. good battery, nfc and decent camera. currently thinking about the Sony Xperia XZ1 Compact.

t. Autist

Nth for Samsung galaxy note 9

posted from my iPhone

yeah but the pixel 3xl is the best phone in existence

I strongly agree, and fully endorse this statement
t. Corporations cocksucker

You only need xl phones like that and the s9+ if you're a big burly black dude with long fingers that you use to palm basketballs and stimulate white women with

Real talk, my phone has a headphone jack that I haven't used in a year and a half

I hate how much I like my iPhone 6s. I've had it for three years, just paid $30 to get the battery replaced, and it's still rocking. Phones today are too large and needlessly powerful imo.

I also hate how much I like iMessage. God damn Apple has messaging on lock

What the fuck is Flipboard and why is it pre-installed on every android phone ever made? Who needs or wants this?

>NOTCHED

What is the best phone I can get with the biggest Screen to body ratio that doesn't have a Japanese censor bar at the top?

>t. listens to lo-fi hip hop and weebcore through $300 iems

Have I fucked up by buying a new Galaxy S7?

pixel 3

that fucking mammoth notch is a disgrace

>pixel 3
>high screen to body
google shill please go.
the nexus 5 was my favorite phone of all time
And I'm upgrading from the google pixel XL, but the new pixel 3 just doesn't do it for me.

Will I regret buying the Pocophone? I just wanna take good pictures of myself and my pet. Is the gcam app a real game changer? I find that hard to believe.

Just google up a comparison video or something.

Did anyone sign up for the free year of service with sprint? How much do you pay in taxes and fees?

Changing phone model, can get pretty much anything i want for free.

Without much research the first two prime candidates are Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus and Sony Xperia XZ3.

Any other suggestions?
>any price
>android
>rootable if possible

this is true , I had my iPhone 7 for 2 years now and still like new, although when the S10 comes out might make the switch

I only trust my fellow Jow Forumsmen

>pic-related.jpg
Holy shit!
That's actually a decent size!
I guess I could almost forgive the ugly notches for that.
If it only ran a good OS…
But lets suppose I fall for the botnet: Thanks to it's great adaptability and hackability, I can surely set the notched parts of the screen to inactive, to have a still quite big, but working, slightly smaller screen with still quite small bezels, right?

>japanese censor bar?
? what?

Aquos are JP market only so don't expect much XDA support. You'd basically have to live with what is officially released.

And you can hide the top notch yes though like every notch (in most use cases) you'd probably become blind to it after a day anyway. Black it out and use it as a notification bar if you want though.

Japanfag here.
What is the best Aquos phone?

Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus
Sony Xperia ZX3
Huawei Mate 20 Pro
Xiaomi Mi 8 Pro

What do I get boys

Does LineageOS support RAW for gcam hdr+?

I want to know if it will work if I flash Lineage on my xperia. Since stock will never support it.

>the nexus 5 was my favorite phone of all time
mine too. too bad google always ruins good things

What are your guys thoughts on the $100 off all one plus 6 phones deal coming up tonight?I was considering the silk white 8gb ram/128gb model is prettty nice for $479.

When will the ultra unscratchable sapphire glass/ceramic body phone come out?

Anyone here have a lg g5 with lineage? I need to upgrade from my 1st gen moto g and it looks decent for the price.

Attached: banner_ETS2_paint.jpg (1600x1250, 513K)

Is the S8 still a good phone?

Will it break without a case?

Yeah, the notch just disgusts me. But it's indeed relatively easy to remove the battery compared to having it caked in glue... which almost question the point of having it sealed like that to begin with but that's another can of worms that's probably not wise to open at the moment.

So right now the mid-range champion is Redmi Note 6 Pro without any room for doubt, right ???

Attached: OOk3.gif (499x190, 1000K)

Can't the notch be hidden in settings? Sounds like a good solution

Can we open use incognito Chrome custom tabs yet or do I still have to stick with Firefox focus

So im buying a op6 over a 6t mainly cause of the headphone jack.
Asides from smaller notch and the meme scan, what else will I be missing?

THAT'S IT
I'M NOT BUYING THE POCOPHONE
CHINKSHIT=COMPROMISE
FUCK XIAOMI I'M BUYING THE XZ1

Does anyone have experience with Sailfish? I don't want to give all my information to Google or Apple. There are few apps that would need to work like Whatsapp for example. They probably use the google services whatever and if they leak their information back that's necessary evil but I don't want them to cross reference my shit through email, sms, phonebook, pictures etc.

>we need to design a new phone
>let's put in a forehead, a chin and TWO notches

Amazon are being dicks and are insisting I magically return the phone sealed and reorder the pocophone at the moment.
It's dumb. I could have ordered it from China at like gearbest from a EU shipper and saved more money but I wanted to get it from a UK seller for easy returns if there was some issue with it.
I'm just trying to save everyone time and money. Like if it was a week or two for a price drop then fair enough, that's on me. But four days after release? That's unfair anons.
It took two days for them to deliver my phone and it's been in my hands two days and it's gone down by a whole £25.
£5-10 drop I wouldn't mind, but £25 is a lot. And it's a bit misleading since the 64gb model was £280 and £330 for the 128gb appeared to be the standard sort of deal for more memory right? For it to go down to £305 before it's even a week old is something nobody could foresee.

larger battery, slightly larger screen

>mfw getting the screen protector installed perfectly the first time

Attached: a85085095a93074523f346a3eb7a05b2.jpg (1631x1571, 97K)

They're all terrible honestly. Shitty cameras and boring internals. Buy an older used one if you're curious.

Is the oneplus 6t good? Sounds like a chink brand like xiaomi

Why does the Google Pixel.2 bot have a headphone jack?

I just got one to switch from an iPhone 6+. It's fucking great. Very fast and snappy. Feels like a quality phone. Actually feels way more quality than the iPhone 6+ ever did. Screen is gorgeous, and battery life is excellent. In display reader is bretty cool and works well.

>notched
>no headphone jack
>non removable battery
>no microsd slots
It's everything I hate.

Look at this sexy bastard. Look at how the status bar elements sit neatly up in the corners, freeing up the screen. Stop being so gay.

You'll be sorry

OnePlus is Oppo sub brand

Can I get lineage running on this?
amazon.ca/gp/product/B071X562MF

Not quite. Its parent company is BBK, which also owns Oppo.

So it's chinkshit. How good is the camera? Does gcam work on it without rooting?

It's decent, but not as good as pixel or iPhone. Yes to gcam without root.

Found the American. The rest of the world uses third party messaging apps.

Had a feeling that was the case. They never stood out to me, like all the other Jap noname brands. Just went to look at some phone shops and saw some shit called like Baxis or something lol

What's a notch and why do you hate it?

Alright, the pixel 2 xl looks like the best non chink phone I can buy + has the best cam. Anything about it that should concern me besides google spying on my porn searches?

Kind of a bummer that the best cameras seem to be gated behind the ultra expensive flagship phones. There are 800 chinese phones that can have some combination of amazing displays, lots of ram, high end cpus, large battery, etc., but it seems like there is no budget option with an outstanding camera and not sure why. Not like the sensor or software cost that much.

Oh wait
>oled screen
why do flagships have these meme displays? I don't fancy having burn in on my phone. Shit

Time to get a DSLR lad. That's the real thing

buy me a fuji x100f

What are you some professional photographer? It's funny to see you zoomers obsess over such stupid shit when 2MP digital cameras blew our mind back in the day.

Good job memeing me, autist. Hope you're happy with old technology. Oh, and buying a Pixel purely because it's not "chinkshit" is almost as retarded as buying an iPhone. Not all chink brands are cheap garbage like Pocophone.

Let me guess.. Amoled? Those atrocious oversaturated reds

You can choose sRGB, DCI-P3 or Custom display profile if you don't like that look.

My Galaxy Note 4 has contracted a case of the MMC failure so I'm thinking about grabbing a Redmi note 5.
How would these two subjectively compare?

Alternatively I can use my old S3 until I've saved a bit of cash for something like a Pixel 1 or Pocophone. I don't like paying more than 500AUD for a phone so that's why I'm thinking older generation stuff.

>How would these two subjectively compare?
Well, that's literally up to you.

DCI-P3 on the 5T is tits

>developed apps
are you saying android doesn't have developed apps? Are you retarded?

>smoother experience is worth paying more
how can you have smoother experience such shitty specs that your phone will be irrelevant by 2020. Also Apple will gimp it for you

Paying more for an inferior product it's never worth it and you're an idiot for doing it. It's like yearly donations to their shitty company to support their shitty business practices. Kys

>What are you some professional photographer? It's funny to see you zoomers obsess over such stupid shit when 2MP digital cameras blew our mind back in the day.
No and also I'm 30. And your reply still doesn't address why cameras seem to be the only consistently inferior item in budget phones compared to flagships. Yes people can use dedicated cameras but people could also use dedicated desktop PCs meaning all phones should have 512mb of RAM but they don't.

Because good lenses and optics are expensive, not to mention software. Corners have to be cut somewhere to beat the price, and most people are ok with a decent camera.

Requesting purchasing advice for a new phone. Camera quality is a huge one. Intend to take 300 pictures on a trip, need a phone that can provide that. Have US/Sprint, and have been eyeing iPhones because their softer and iPhone X's good performance in low light. I'll be coming in from Android but I have iOS experience.

My budget $300-650, and it needs to last me more than two years.
Low light will be a huge factor for me.

Preowned OK, but I won't buy a chinkphone.

$4 and some change. Sprint charges its own $2.50 administrative fee so that's a given. Coverage is good, but you can't use mobile data while calling so be prepared if on the go.

>Hope you're happy with old technology.
How is the Pixel 2 XL 'old technology'? And I've given up, I'm not buying anything at all. The phone market is cursed right now

I might be underestimating the cost of sensors and lenses but I bet you could get a lot more viral marketing done if you had an outstanding camera and saved costs on like 4 instead of 6gb of ram and a non-quadHD display or slightly smaller battery or something. Just a guess but for the market at large I bet camera is like a top 3 priority feature.

Just buy the new pixel.

Buy a used X.

What about objectively?

>IPS display
>latest specs
>bezels, no notches
>godly cameras
why doesn't this phone exist?

I wish the canadian economy wasn't in the dumpster so I could afford a real phone.

Because there is no market for this. Most looking to buy spend enough on "godly cameras, latest specs" would see LCD as a negative.

wtf
oled screens turn to shit in a few months thanks to burn in, how is that better than ips?

most people who want nice cameras are just selfie taking / food photographic zoomers and don’t care about the rest

Pixel 3, it'll be $650 on Black Friday

This isn't true. It might be inherent to the technology but OLED and AMOLED have been used for years in devices now. Not saying NO ONE experiences burn in but if this was some epidemic or even remotely common, you'd be seeing screenshots, posts, articles about this constantly. For years. On all forums and about all devices.

Have owned a Nexus 6P since launch and have zero burn in on its AMOLED.

Xperia XZ series is as close as you'll get

835 SoC, only 4GB of RAM. It's good enough for now, but not very future proof.

Budget phones already usually have 1080p displays. I doubt losing 2GB of RAM is that much of a cost difference.

why can't my s6 have a sd card

Attached: 1542475226694.png (306x355, 141K)

I know right. My Pocophones IPS display is plenty bright enough at half to 60% brightness outdoors in most circumstances. And that's brighter than my old LCD display of my HTC 10 phone was at its maximum brightness with battery saver off.
LCD IPS is pretty damn good balance imo. I have a chink laptop and a Acer 4k monitor with IPS panels and they look pretty great. Anything is better than TN, especially uncalibratable TN

>XZ
>godly cameras

The Xperia cameras are so bad that even if it fit the other criteria that guy asked for I'd say it doesn't fit.

>I only trust my fellow Jow Forumsmen
Well, that's presumptuous. You can find comparisons on XDA most likely.

are you a burger low-key shilling iPhones?

This guy is obviously a trusted Jow Forums poster. Check it out:

>new
No, not at all.

Guys, can you help me a bit. Looking for a new phone, currently have Samsung S6, I've had it for 2,5 years, and its breaking down, charging is fucked, battery is fucked, camera is not good. I am looking for new phone with best camera but don't want to pay a shitlot for it. My first choice is Pro 20, or Mate Pro 20, but they cost too much, I am waiting for some price drop on black friday, but I doubt it. Next choice is s9+, which is sold for 500 euros (im from europe). How good is s9+ camera exactly. I see a lot of people praising it, some go so far and call it best on the market at the moment, but I saw some pictures and honestly not impressed.
