Just fucking read whatever tutorial you can find. Its literally no more than 10 functions to get you doing 99% of what you'll be using it for.
What's beyond reading a tutorial, how do I efficiently write latex in vim? Typing out all the functions every time is major aids

You will have better luck with /sci/. Jow Forums isn't too big on writing research. I think /sci/ even has a sticky about latex. Just check it out and find out.
