I used to travel with 2 Laptops, too, and frequently got asked this because it "seemed unusual"

I was working on the Retail Chromebooks project, so I had my Chromebook, and I had my regular Windows Laptop with me, too. So I'd get asked why I had 2 laptops at security checks, and I just explained one was for business and development, and the other was for testing and displaying.

Even in Detroit something like this would be an immediate "no" for your thesis btw. Either it was a shitty class where failing doesn't matter or a shitty class where the poster itself was worth almost nothing

That was our whole program. People cheated relentlessly and/or turned in dogshit like that poster and got passing grades. We had to take 2 MATLAB/C-oriented classes where we had to program things like root finders, ODE solvers, linear algebra shit, etc. The next year when we took another lab that was MATLAB heavy, some of the students could not complete simple in-class assignments that required a very simple for loop. I assure you, education is in a terrible state. It's all about getting the maximum number of asses in seats and pushing them through to make room for more asses in seats, to leech more government-guaranteed student loan money and put these kids into horrendous non-dischargable debt while giving them next to 0 real skills.
