CPU >CPUs with less than 8 threads have trouble delivering a consistent 60fps+ in some games >Athlon 200GE - Bare minimal desktop/gaming >R3 2200G - Light gaming(dGPU optional) >R5 2400G - Consider IF on sale >R5 2600/X - Good gaming & multithreaded work use CPUs >i7-9700k/8700k/8700 - If you have a $2000+ budget >R7 2700/X - Best value high-end CPU on a non-HEDT platform >Threadripper/Used Xeon - HEDT
RAM >8GB - For light desktop use, or if you don't mind closing web browser to free up RAM for gaming >16GB - Standard amount >32GB - If you have to ask, you don't need this >CPUs benefit from fast RAM; 2933MHz+ is ideal. Check "more" for true latency formula
Graphics cards >RTX 2000 cards are worse performance per $ than previous gen >Avoid cheap MODELS ie MSI Armor (Mk2 is ok), Gigabyte G1/Wf, ASUS dual, and others w/ small heatsinks and low quality fans 1080p >RX 570/580/590 w/ Freesync or 1060 6GB - standard 1080p 60fps+ options >1050 3Gb or RX560 4Gb - lower settings and/or older games >Vega 56; 1070Ti if you already have Gsync - for higher FPS w/ a high hz monitor 1440p >Vega; 1070Ti if you already have Gsync >Waste money - for higher FPS w/ a high hz monitor 4K >Upscale from 1620-1800p. Or 2080Ti, but awful value OpenCL use >Vega 64
Storage >Backup before using StoreMi >Consider getting a larger SSD (better GB/$) instead of small SSD & HDD >2TB HDDs are barely more $ than 1TB >M.2 is a form factor, NOT a performance standard
Display >Consider 75hz minimum; 60hz are mostly old models >Always consider FreeSync w/ AMD cards >START YOUR BUILD WITH A MONITOR FIRST, then make a build to drive it appropriately
So I got a brand new athlon x4 880k with a huge ass amd stock cooler for 50€. Problem is temperatures seems too high even though the cooler isnt really pushing away hot air. Should I get new thermal paste? Using the one that came applied on the cooler atm.

B450 mortar for 91.5 euros or b450 tomahawk for 107 euros? Gaming and streaming on ryzen 2600 overclocked
Cooper Gomez
i5 8600k and Ryzen 2700x are same price in maple syrup. The 8700k is $150 more, and the 9600k are $50 more for i5 and $200 more for i7. Even for purely gaming intel is a fucking joke to get at these prices.
Cameron Lopez
880k is a hot potato, you can only do so much about it
Tyler Jackson
Need opinions on noctua ULN fans. Worth the tradeoff of lesser performance for lower noise? I am slowly putting together parts for a zen 2 build next year. Noise isn't a huge concern but if I'm going to have 9 fans going at a time it would be nice to have quiet ones. Also, 2x140mm vs 3x120mm. I am guessing the former is easier to power and quieter while the latter will provide a better cooling experience overall?
Just get BQ fans if noise is your focus. They're still good quality fans that won't fuck you on thermals. Why in the fuck do you even need that many fans? You never need more than 4 90% of the time.
Jace Perez
Nothing set in stone, I just threw out a dumb number. Will look at those too
Ethan Campbell
Is this a decent price, or is it a black friday scam? Microcenter btw
Looking for a mini itx to go with my 2600x, which one should I buy? I really have no experience with anything smaller than full atx
Nicholas King
Are MSI Vegas (56) any good? I could get a Powercolor for a similar price, but it's from a shit retailer so it'd be a pain if I needed warranty repairs or a refund
Aiden James
I woudln't trust good deals on 8700k and 9700k. I've been monitoring them for 2 weeks, and they're randomly bumping up the price to cut it down into its original price with "sales" across multiple store fronts. Found some pretty good deals on i5 and Ryzen 2 though, but you're gonna have to pay the goy tax on i7.
Charles Thomas
Not sure if right thread, but should I get a new monitor 1080p 144hz or go for 1440p? My card is GTX 1060 6GB which probably isn't sufficient for 1440p vidya, but then again I will upgrade the card before I upgrade the monitor so some future proofness would be nice, does 1080 non-native content look like shit on 1440p monitor?
Lucas Cox
>Vega Don't, just wait ti AMD goes Ryzen on GPUs, or stick with pascale nvidia.
Asher Walker
Anons, I am building right now a PC for gaming and streaming, but there are few questions: I decided to get the nvidia 2070 GPU and that 8800K intel processor Here are some questions: 1).Monitor I am planning to purchase supports amd freesync. Is it worth swapping over to AMD's for that feature? 2).If I happen to be able to get 1080 ti, shall I get it instead of my current GPU?
Thanks in advance
Cameron Sullivan
I bet the guy tried to eat the card LOL
Brayden Bennett
Entry level for 1440p is 1070ti, and I do mean ENTRY. Games are unoptimized messes for anything above 1080p, so you're gonna need to brute force it for any good performance on none shit settings. I'd save up a bit for 1440p 144hz+ if I were you, 1440p is slowly becoming the new standard.
Matthew Sanders
>want new laptop >want Ryzen >watch this youtu.be/Gc4mld0o9_I Why can't AMD into the mobile market?
Aiden Hall
That's a weird way of spelling 'based and redpilled'.
Brody Peterson
Newegg has Vega 64 for 399.99$, lower than GTX 1080 and performs as well if not better (especially for newer games).
Grayson Perez
>pulse vega 56 for £325 + games aaaaah I want it but I don't need it
Jose Long
>tfw have 750ti right now >sometimes in fullscreen mode my pc just go into artifcats, so i had to play with window mode/borderless Worst time to buy gpu, huh.
Carson Lopez
I've been playing the wait game since 670. I had enough to be honest, I'm biting the bullet on 2080.
Robert Wood
Missed the evga deals in the eu and no orher normally priced gpus here F
James Nguyen
Well, in my case, i just bought pc for 380 dollars with i7 4790k and 750ti(it was unused all these times, yet i got baited by friend and played max settings Witcher 3 without changing cooling policy, and got some fries at 80C temperature) Like, i just need sometimes to restart pc until i get normal screen.
Aiden Scott
Well, what’s the ‘default’ price of it? I’ve only started my build/researching into it a few days ago.
Landon Martin
Ok ill try, pic related is 4yo build of mine. Build it mainly for gaming and photoshop. Since then i upgraded from 290x to 1080, and i got into motion design. After Effects with complex compositions are slow as fuck, also Cinema 4d renders on CPU since i dont have money for Octane which is GPU renderer and cant be cracked.
My question is, if upgrade, what motherboard and what CPU? I think ill need at least 64gb ram for After Effects and my current Mb supports only up to 32gb
Just bought a 2070 to replaces my aging 970s in SLI Worth to keep one of the 970s installed as a dedicated physx card?
James Campbell
1080

I'm considering an RX 580 purely because of the RE2/DMCV deal. Is there a model that represents exra good value?

Manli 1080 with blower cooler for ~370 euro (is. gd/4NrLe3) or Inno3D 1070ti for ~420 (is. gd/TjySzx)? Problem is I couldn't find any serious review online for the manli card and I'm not sure whether I should go for it

whats best entry level amd card for 1440p/144hz ?
Nolan Thomas
Yea pretty good but you wont save that much to warrant buying an expensive part from somewhere any warranty issues will be a pain good card though.

Is a Noctua NH-U14S enough to cool a Threadripper 1920x CPU?
Carson Howard
Hello and Welcome to Cuck Deals!
Christopher Turner
Is the Corsair Force LE 960GB good or shite? it's a little cheaper than the 1TB 860 EVO
Jeremiah Young
Vega, so long as it's not a reference card.
Manli and Inno3D are literally the same company. Along with Zotac they're just brands that PC Partner sell cards under. Only retards buy blower-style coolers though.
>8600K
Vega 56 or 64. Nothing else will come close.
Carson James
Anyone know an alternative to a mastercase pro 5? I was waiting for it to go on sale but instead it just became unavailable.
Julian Reed
U dont need 650w
Sebastian Rogers
Not even sure what you’re saying here
Carson Richardson
get a 2600x and 3000/3200mhz ram
Cooper Torres
Is this pic true? What’s wrong with ASUS strix Vega 56?
Can anyone in eu please tell me its gonna be okay and there will be at least one decent gpu deal Nothing has legitimate discounts and is still way overpriced. Might get a 2nd hand at this point
Jack Rivera
Something a little different, I'm building a NAS.
Been out of the PC game for several years. I was looking at a Ryzen 2400g but looks like it gets BTFO by an i3, and there are no AM4 boards with more than 4 SATA III ports - chipset must suck.
Anyways, rate my build, lemme know if there's something wrong with it. M+B key M.2 SSD's will fit in the mobo if it says M key right?
Drives will be WD Red 4TBs plus some WD Green 1.5TBs that I already own Case will be a U-Nas NSC-800 >mini-ITX >8 bay hot swap >1U psu >chink shit
Get an ssd. Don't forget the cpu cooler. Personal take: i'd rather have air flow in my case with an overclocked cpu and beefy gpu. Fractal design meshify c. Possibly faster ram 3000MHz cl15 or 3200MHz cl16. Also that motherboard is pretty shitty, you can probably find a better deal. Pic related: Z370 vrm tier list.
>120gb SSD You´ll be only gaming and browsing or...?
Jack Nelson
asus rog is pretty much always good, just update bios for any fixes of course.
Angel Gomez
Have a 950 pro as a boot drive, is there really any benefits to getting a 970pro and using it as a boot drive? I really don't see any improvement outside of a .1 second difference in benchmarks but I want to make sure.
Anthony Hernandez
>I'm building a NAS It's a box full of disks that's going to sit on my network, download anime from usenet and serve it over Plex. It's not even going to have a monitor. I went with the cheapest M.2 boot drive I could find so I didn't take up one of the Sata ports that I could use for a disk
y/n i work with 1080p but my second monitor is a makeshift 720 tv screen and i could really use a real second monitor
John Cooper
Do I need an x470 board for a 2600x? Is using a b450 a waste of money without the extra voltage pin thingamajigglies for the x version of the processor?
Camden Garcia
i need a few 1 tb ssd´s. with the amazon sale running now does anybody have some recomendations or stuff to avoid?
Wyatt Bell
Just buy the 860 evo
Zachary Ross
Great deal on that cpu for sure. Strix mobos are always overpriced, you pay for pretty design over substance. See picture youtu.be/v5NDtS8za8g
Noah Bennett
This. Just got one for like $100. You aint doing much better than that.
Landon Thomas
>I'm building a NAS Ah sorry didnt catch that
Noah Parker
I want to upgrade fro a r9380x and thinking about a 2070. I want the card to cary me at least 4 years 1080p everything on high. I understand that you never know what will happen in these 4 years but is this realistic?
Gabriel Jenkins
I got a 500 GB SSD so im not ordering one with this. For CPU cooler i was thinking of something cheap but i dont really know which one, any recommends? Im not gonna OC this much. Changed my RAM to Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB 3200MHz DDR4 SDRAM DIMM 288-pin
clock speed does not matter. how will intel ever recover?
Daniel Nguyen
How about MSI Z370i Gaming Pro Carbon AC ? Other ones are getting a bit pricey...
Gabriel Sanders
For Z390 go Gigabyte, they fucking destroy the competition in VRMs, it's not even close. The Aorus Ultra is cheaper than the strix, and better than then Maximus VRM wise. Current Asus is extremely overpriced, and underperforming on the Intel side, but the AMD4 ones are good.
Landon Hughes
Sorry for the late answer my dude, the 1070ti is a rare deal in Ausland these days, especially for a good model like the FTW. Most low end 1070ti' have now crept north of $650au. The Vega56 on the other hand is pretty commonly these days creeping around $600 flat, but haven't seen a Strix that cheap. I'd honestly flip a coin on either.
Jackson Torres
You're choosing your GPU based solely on the fact that it comes with two console ports?
Sebastian Morgan
kek
Aiden Reed
Don't get Z370, they're fairly overpriced. I literally can't recommend Z390 Gigabyte Elite/Ultra/Master enough. Their VRMs are insane, it's what you'll be getting on $500 Asus boards. If you must get a Z370, get a Taichi or Gaming 7.
Michael James
Most vega board partner cards have problem with the contact between die heatsink. Some people with cards which have really high HBM temps found out after opening that the thermal paste was untouched and did not even contact the cooler. You should make sure to check for user experiences online before purchasing one. Just look at this fine example hardforum.com/threads/xfx-vega-56-dual-fan-you-should-probably-avoid-this-travesty.1953602/
Connor Anderson
It's mini ITX board... look harder. Don't know much about z390 prices, but the last time i've checked asrock z370 extreme4 was like 140€, get that if you can't afford Gigabyte Z390 recommended ITT
Jonathan Cox
Vega64 is better in some (few) games or at least matched the 1080 most of the time, but you a big power suply and it uses more energy.
Robert Butler
Okay here we go:
GFX: ASUS GeForce GTX 1070 Ti Cerberus 8GB CPU: Intel Core i5 8600K 3.6GHz LGA1151 Socket CPU cooler: Noctua NH-D14 MB: MSI Z370i Gaming Pro Carbon AC Power: EVGA SuperNOVA 650 G2 650Wattia 80 PLUS Gold RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB 3200MHz DDR4 SDRAM DIMM 288-pin HDD: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" Serial ATA-600 SSD: 500GB Kingston something Rig: Fractal Design Meshify C Solid Black
if you're going with intel at least have the decency to get an i7
Julian Foster
I hope you already have a 1440p 144hz goysync monitor, otherwise I'm lmaoing@u
Jayden Smith
Is it a bad idea to buy GPUs used for mining? I read conflicting views on it, some people say it's fine because mining means there were less power cycles and it's usually undervolted and others saying it stresses the hardware and it won't last long.
Zachary Howard
I did good, r-right?
Didn't actually pay that much after finding discounts and what not. Little over a hundred or so cheaper. First build.
