What's some software that doesn't have a good foss alternative?

photoshop

AutoCAD

Beat me to it.

prosumer software tends to have a lot of really good foss alternatives but proprietary fags hate it because it's not trying to compete directly which means they can't use linux on their 'bring your own hardware' jobs which sours grapes, professional software is usually too specialised for anybody to care about what operating system it's running on and having a >$1k monthly price tag keeps plebs out, consumer software usually has the best ratio of good foss to good prorietary software

drivers

>inb4 high amounts of baby duck syndrome

paint.net

>yfw you see amdgpu
>yfw you have no face because you're still using nvidia

Any professional DAW, though I use Audacity in combination with any given DAW all the time.

Elaborate please what does autocad have does that the foss options dont?

pinta isn't terrible if you just need something simple like paint.net but it runs like shit on higher resolutions

I've tried it, I didn't like it. I do however like Krita and GIMP. I use wangblows for gaymen but paint.net is just so easy and simple

understandable, I've switched to krita myself but can't stand how every single option has to be called something different
it's the one piece of software I miss most on linux, everything else I prefer the alternatives or don't mind booting a windows vm

Preview.app

This is actually the best image editing software for memes, document signing, markups, pdf reviews, gif editing and creation, it goes on and on.

Nothing else comes close.

CFF Explorer and windbg.

Adobereader

An android swipe keyboard like gboard

battlefield V

Windows

Foobar and AIMP

Acid (music software)

None that is worth using

Adobe After Effects

Windows Explorer file picker

Foobar2000

Mypaint

again, used it. I didn't have problems with it with my drawing tablet, and I really enjoyed the one button shortcuts, but it is a pain in the ass to work with when you're just trying to edit some game textures or do simple meme shitposts, because it lacked crop/transform tools. I don't remember if it even had plugin support, while PDN does have a pretty good chunk of plugins.

Nothing would make me happier than PDN to get ported to linux, but until it does i'll just stick to Krita & GIMP when i'm not on my gaymen pc

Streaming services

Anything in the realm of video editing. Vegas / Premiere and After Effects have no floss alternative that comes even remotely close to them.

TotalMix FX

Ableton

Premiere

Photoshop

Nothing, blender is just better. Though admittedly for extremely high poly modeling and retopology, zbrush is probably still the way to go unfortunately.

>foss
As opposed to free and not open source? Retard.

This smug little shit is pissing me off.

god i wish that were me

Doesn't foobar run on Linux?

Music software

The only half decent one I know of that is Linux compatible is Reaper and it’s workflow is kind of awful.

still cant force AA on games
what a joke

Full blown CAD software like Solid Edge (especially the sheet metal part) or Inventor

Houdini.

There will never be any foss that matches it.

Blender and AutoCAD aren't even remotely the same thing.
