G4M3R

Only stuck up G4M3R neets need G-sync.
All you need is a 144hz monitor and v sync.
Prove me wrong.

>144hz monitor and v sync
pretty much every engine locks vsync at 60hz, brainlet.

> v-sync
> playing with that horrible reduction in input accuracy

It locks it to your monitors refresh rate not 60
Provide proof or go home.

not him, but some shitty modern console ports are artificially limited to 60fps, regardless of your monitors' refresh rate

Im pretty sue thee is a way to hack v sync in games, to lock the fps at a given number..

many games can be hacked in some way to remove 60fps/vsync restrictions, but it doesn't always work well
there's a reason to put the limit on usually, rendering much more than the artificial limit could cause negative side-effects, most commonly dodgy physics/ai, sometimes to the point of breaking the game

pretty sure Fallout 4 is hard locked to 60 and people who got around it played the game in turbo mode

i'm not really sure why games started doing that
3d games in the 2000's could work with >60fps just fine, i frequently played games at 75, 85, 100, and sometimes even 120Hz just fine higher than 60Hz monitors were even /more/ common than now, shit's fucking backwards

Yeah. But most cutscenes, and sometimes action is fucking tied to framerate by shitty devs.

Enjoy speedups or in some cases slowdowns(without fps loss) of gameplay and cutscenes.

Your run speed it tied to fps.

So without fps limit people were looking downwards to boost fps and run faster.

>nb4 muh screen tearing on a 144Hz

VRR is far superior to V-sync. The problem is that Nvidia's desktop implementation is obsolete middleware BS that has outlived its usefulness. They should just give it up and adopt VESA's VRR implemention. They already do it for their mobile GPUs.
>MFW, Nvidia could single-handily kill off AMD RTG in gayming discrete graphics if they simply adopted VESA's VRR spec on their desktop GPUs

Adaptive Sync just becomes pointless at higher refresh rates generally.

Nope, it prevents screen tearing and makes "hic-ups" far less jarring. It barely impacts input lag.
Learn how VRR works and why it is so bloody awesome. Nvidia has been screwing over the gaming community by trying to make VRR support on their shit a walled garden with G-Sync BS.

>having v-sync on ever
yikes

Here we go
>it prevents screen tearing

Sorry, if your vision is shit-tier and can't see a difference between 20FPS-60FPS.

Screen-tearing is very jarring with any significant motion/screen panning.

So you bought a high-refresh rate monitor while having a shit GPU.

That's because the game engine bethesda use is old as shit and has it's speed tied to your framerate so if you go too high above 60 the engine takes a huge shit, you can run Fallout 4 fine at 72fps though without problems.

Funfact: even loading times are tied to the framerate.

Nope, been running 150FPS+ and screen-tearing is just as noticeable as forcing to run content at 30FPS.
Learn how monitors and computer video output actually work. Here's a hint, you'll quickly learn what actually causes screen tearing.

Protip: High refresh does absolutely jack to remedy it. There's a reason why V-Sync came into existence.

Funny how I've never seen screen tearing on a high refresh rate monitor even when running games over 200 FPS.

You got shitty eyes bro. If you have any decent visual acuity. Screen-tearing is still painful apparent with any significant screen motion/panning even at 150FPS (look at the middle portion of the screen).
It is actually more accurate to call screen tearing "asynchronous drawing".

This, and in a game with load times long enough for you to go take a piss and come back that shit is fucking ridiculous.

You must have very good vision indeed to notice an artifact showing up for 0.0069 seconds.
You're a jet fighter pilot?
The only way to actually see it is to move your mouse left to right as quickly as possible like a tard and thanks to the magic of persistence of vision you'll have time to see tearing.

Actually, forget that Thanks to you, I'm focusing like a sperg on tearing and noticing it now. Fuck you.

Here's user's blend of chemo + some new ones for you bustas
