Best computer skill I can teach myself to start a new career in the next year?

I already know my way around after effects, illustrator, a little photoshop and can do basic web design (htm/css). I know no programming or anything like that tho.

I just wanna get outta manual labor. Even tho it pays alright it's kicking my ass. I want a new start.

Anybody know where to start researching japanese sex toys?

>gaymen
>laptop
why do you insist

thank you, kind user!
exactly what i needed to know.

everyone was saying my new build containing NVMe ssd would take from the GPU's PCIe lanes.

but the m2p is the place to put NVMe without any ill effects, then?

what is the size/volume difference between STX-full and ATX-desktop cases?

Exactly.
The other 2 port will affect the rest of your computer.
Gigabyte really did some hacky stuff to get 3 M2 slots in this board, for a reason the standard is only 2 even in high end boards.
Still why not just get a SATA SSD(860 EVO for example)? You will get the same performance than a NVMe one if you will use it for windows or games.

But if you are going to use it for editing, server or business related stuff then it would be worth to get the NVMe SSD.

ask

>Still why ... if you are going to use it for editing, server or business related stuff then it would be worth to get the NVMe SSD.

editing and business, friend. (gaming during breaks)

Thanks you're the best.

Dude just get an egpu, better than having to carry a gayming laptop around, you look less gay too

Alright then, it would be better if you bought a Cheap SSD just for games later on but its up to your budget.
NVMe vs SATA when it comes to games: youtu.be/ecCA0gx_eZk

Also one of your M2 slots does affect the 3rd PCIe slot, but the first and second wont be affected.

Asked earlier, but what is Jow Forums's recommended VPN? Price and not ratting me out for downloading video games a plus. Oh and also speed...if I'ma pay I want it to be somewhat fast.

After checking your motherboard specs the first and Second M2 slots are the good ones, and the 3rd slot will make the 3rd PCIe slot run in X2 mode instead X4 since the M2 slot will use 2 of those lanes to work but that is it.

Can a VM detect a usb device that's not recognized by the host?
Like, there's a usb device that's not recognized by my win10 PC, but somewhere on google people said it works fine on win7, so I virtualbox a win7 machine on my win10 PC. Can it detect the usb device?

hi where can i get a cheap vps?

With passthrough, maybe

Pretty much everywhere. How potato do you like them?

if you can learn programming, learn programming

as cheap as a potato is good enough

Doesn't passthrough need to be allowed manually? Like, clicking devices>usb and choose which device you would allow to the VM? If the host doesn't recognize the usb device, won't it not appear in the device list?

Posting this again because i still have no idea.

Is Samsung Galaxy Tab A the best 10-inch tablet under $200?

Attached: ca-galaxy-tab-a-10-1-2016-t580-sm-t580nzkaxac-000000001-front-black[1].jpg (892x684, 40K)

Learn operator overloading in C++. Then the purpose of overloading operator(). Then search what are templates in C++.

Simplifying though, K represents whatever type. operator() is overloading the parenthesis (ie. when you do my_function()). And reinterpret_cast is a special type of cast.

It's fine if the host has no driver. Probably bad if the device doesn't show up in the device list. Broken?

There are 128mb for ~$3-5/year, minimal customer support.

Android tablets as a category are very ded.

2x8 is the all-round winner because most motherboards support dual-channel

>2x8 is the all-round winner because most motherboards support dual-channel
Why are you lying to him?

nope. get nVidia Shield and attach to TV
superior experience for $200 (not including tv, but you can get a 1080p 40" now for

A laptop im looking at has the same specs except one is 60hz another is 144 and this makes a huge difference in price. I am most likely going to attach the laptop to an external monitor anyway. My question is if the laptop is 60hz and i hdmi it to a 144 will there be any problems.

>obviously not ... but better safe than sorry and decided to ask

Unironically, typing speed and 10-key
You clearly want an easy answer - something you can teach yourself in a year
But don't attach that to a "career", you clearly have no passion in mind
Just type fast as fuck and get a job in insurance underwriting, then when you DO figure out what you want to do you'll already have a stable job with benefits to transition out of and will type fast enough that whatever tech-related job you go into that skill will benefit you

more parallellism = faster i/o, so 4x4gb is the best right now
however it also leaves you with no space to upgrade later, and it's unlikely that ram speed will be a major bottleneck on performance. 2x8gb will be a nice middle ground and leave you space to upgrade to 32gb ram a few generations down the line if you feel the need to

I'm having problems viewing pics on Sankaku Channel on Firefox. Other browsers work fine, but FF shows a logo image in place of the actual pic.

Anyone know how to hack into a old gmail account?

Finally I have after many years of saving up, enough money to buy a new computer
I was very happy about this and started looking around immediately

However, one thing is still very confusing to me
ATX / Micro ATX / Mini ATX

Is there any sort of performance loss when going for a micro atx / mini atx instead of an ATX?
Sorry for this stupid question, I hope someone can help me though
I must admit, this is all new to me, first time I get to be lucky enough to build a new PC in 8 years (or more)

one important factor is certainly having less slots to plug in new stuff and upgrades. You also gotta mind if there is space for cpu coolers if you want to buy a big one.

i'll leave to other users to discuss performance, as i have no clue which boards have speed bottlenecks in stuff like ram slots.

Please give feedback

>Dude just get an egpu, better than having to carry a gayming laptop around, you look less gay too
You're right. Better to carry around your macbook, egpu, monitor, keyboard, and everything else.

>I must admit, this is all new to me, first time I get to be lucky enough to build a new PC in 8 years (or more)
Do you plan on moving every year?
If not, then get ATX. You will be able to upgrade it more easily with PCIe cards, keeping the system relevant when those new ports/features are baked into future motherboards.
For example:
2010 x79 ATX boards are still good. 40 PCIe lanes, and at least three x16 slots. You can put in a 2080ti, and have 24 PCIe lanes, and at least 2 x16 slots, available for other things, like a 10GB ethernet card, or a M.2 riser for a couple M.2 SATA SSDs, or a SATA/SAS card, to add 8x SATA/SAS ports, or a T3 card for 40GB Thunderbolt or whatever it's spec'd to.

Also, get an xXXX intel board. They are a little more expensive, but they support the most ram, and in 5 years, server processors for that generation will be dirt cheap, making for a nice upgrade.

Is it possible to switch from Windows 10 LTSB 2016 to Windows pro 1809 ? Or I have to reinstall ? Thanks.

Are there any minimal desktop player for twitch? (no chat/etc) the site is such bloated garbage and I can't find a working browser addon for my firefox version.

you can watch it in vlc

Should I install them upwards or downwards pointing?

I think down is default. But I am not sure, what poses a greater risk for damage by restless feet.

I'm using mingw so it doesn't have any command like those, but I figured out that putting mpv.exe in the home dir works (with --player=mpv.exe).

I can do this now too though..
I have some trouble finding unblocked sites but I get them in the end..
Maybe I don't need a VPN at the moment.

I meant the poorly drawed ones.

Were Helge Schneiders mice too well drawn for you?

You just need a laptop and a GPU tho, also:

C:\Users\bygeo>cd /d
The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect.

What am I doing wrong? I forgot how to do this..

I want to go to

type
D:
then cd there

I was planning to hook up a cheap laptop to a TV via HDMI and use it to emulate old games. How bad should I expect the input lag to be?

that was it..
I remember using /d for something and mixed it up.

/d should work for when you need to change directories with a cd command, though. Did you use syntax like the following?
cd /d D:\foldername

>Trying to connect 2 arduinos via ethernet cable
Are you just trying to have them communicate using standard internet protocol? If so, directly connecting them won't work. You'll need to connect both to a router.

If the arduinos are capable of it you can also send specific signals across the cable and write your own protocol for sending and receiving custom signals over the cable.

I thought I did but my eyes were deceiving me I guess.. I will take my meds.

Why don't they go fuck themselves and give us more server space? They have money now with 4channel.

How do you organize your shit around a 256GB SSD + 1TB setup?

I used to work with 128GB but 256 seems like too much for just the OS alone.

Fucking Google keeps resetting my preferences.

Every single fucking time I open up YouTube I have to manually turn off autoplay and turn on dark mode.

Every day I google something and I have to click "Switch to English" so I don't get fucktarded unrelated results in my country's language.

I'm always logged in to my account, and uMatrix shouldn't be blocking any of the cookies. Is it because I'm using Firefox? It would be some major bullshit if they're doing this to make me use Chrome sync or whatever.

no opinions about installation directions of RJ45 sockets?

I'm looking for an alarm clock app for my Archos diamond alpha phone (aka Nubia NX569J) with android 6.0.1.

I need to be able to set up a short alarm (1 to 5 seconds) that turns itself off without user input. The default app doesn't go under 1 minute or something. I just want a "ding" to remind me to go to sleep instead of staying up all night and stuff like that (similar to a feature grandfather's clocks and church towers have, except not every single hour of the day and the night.)

I used Alarm Clock Xtreme on my previous phone (HTC10), but it's not working on this one (I have a notification the alarm didn't ring because the app was forced-shut-down due to instability or something.)

Someone nearby has thrown out 3 computer cases.
Now, I don't drive, so I personally cannot drive to a metal scrapping place (Admittedly, there's one like a few minutes drive if I were to get a car available), but is it worth it to take them for modding, or at least selling them to a metal scrapping place for a few bux? I know there's probably no definitive answer, but surely 3 cases would add up to a bit of spare bux for my faggotry, right?
Neighbor is just throwing them out because he said he doesn't use them anymore, so they're free to take.

A friend of mine recently built me a computer with a Ryzen 1400 & 16GB RAM. He installed a trial version of Windows, so I don't have to pay for the OS.
However, I've pretty much exclusively used a (freely provided) Macbook for the last ~6 years or so, and am quite used to it.
Where do I go to get into using "Hackintosh"? Also, does Ryzen worth with MacOS?
Sorry, I come here quite a bit, but I only recently found out about "Hackintosh", so I was really curious, since I'd ideally like to stick to Mac, even if it is unofficial & unsupported.

can anybody explain me how does this works?

Attached: iseven.png (516x762, 23K)

IIRC it does work with Ryzen, just isn't as well supported. Hackintosh is macOS with extensions that make it work with non-apple hardware, it's the same exact system. Just it's going to have more or less compatibility depending of which CPU/GPU/motherboard you use, since it needs to be as closer as the original hardware as it can. However your biggest concern would only be if you use dedicated sound/ethernet cards or anything that just wouldn't even make sense on apple hardware.

I can't exactly point you to any specific place where Ryzen builds are tested with macOS, but after getting through a few hurdles, it works pretty much the same on Intel (or even better, depending on which hardware you use).

Is it a good idea to buy from Amazon if I'm in Australia? There's an XFX GTS RX 580 8GB for about $315 including shipping, and I was under the assumption that it's one of the better RX 580's.
However, I'm a bit skeptical about buying from Amazon & Newegg from here.
Prices are a bit higher locally, even including shipping.

If amazon says they will ship to your country they will, otherwise you will get a refund if they cant deliver.

Yeah, I get that, I more so mean just shit like RMA or warranty, if I ever have any issues.
I suppose I'm just being paranoid about shit happening internationally.
