Well, this probably reflects the quality of your experience.

>doing a code monkey's job
You brought this upon yourself.

Lived in both countries, 3 things to note

>1 that's seriously exaggerated
>2 it's the same in the rest of europe
>3 Highly educated amerigoblins are much richer than highly educated brits. Their lower class gets JUSTed much harder than ours (remember they need to buy med insurance). Refer to pic related

That's an internship retard

Anyone that takes this job is a retard or is so shit he has no other options. You make more than that as a codemonkey with zero education in my middleeuropean country after your trial year.

UK friends are welcome in Australia. Come on over.

no, fuck off we're full

> placement
This is a paid internship OP. The only experience it require is with music.

I've been unemployed for 2 months because the absolute state of software industry in the UK is shit. I'm honestly considering moving to Taiwan or some shit.

I make 14k as an apprentice in telecomms, going up to the graduate wage of 23k after I'm done. I work in r&d, but the apprentice and grad wages are the same across departments. Fairly small rural town too.

What's the inflation like though. What's the average price of buying a house, and how much was that back in the early 1900s?

A reference for inflation (US stats):

not with that attitude

Jow Forums - crying about "muh job"

You can't afford to live in London on £16k

It's a placement mate, holiday work for undergrads.

It's not?

t. 21k six months after apprenticeship

Because you voted for Tories, you bloody wanker.

>16k
>can't make a living
Actually I earn as much, but in eastern europe.
And with that much of monaaay, I'm pretty much fucking loaded here, man.

lol no software dev is like 30k average in the east midlands mate

That's a placement, 16k is minimum wage which is standard for an internship and yes it's fuck all but it gives you a chance to prove yourself and get a proper full paid job from them.

Lmao literally what? My gf got a dev job straight outta university for above 60k total comp. I myself had one for about 50k but turned it down for a PhD. Have a few other friends who had 55k+ offers for similar graduate positions.

Where the fuck are you?

Graduate dev job should be about £25-32k (outside of London).

Is internship pay typically low in Europe? When I was in college internships paid 50 burgers /h roughly unless you were a freshman.
