First for anime feet
I used to work in a factory during my holidays with insane noise and the earbuds they are providing is utter garbage even thought they have 30db reduction. Why? Because they insert so bad in ear. 27db with etymotic IEMs is top notch.
>27db with etymotic IEMs is top notch.
But that's under certain conditions, and most likely musical conditions. Don't think your IESM will actually block out any sort of harmful noise when taken out in an airfield, shooting guns, or somewhere else outside of a concert where loud sounds will occur.
I'm curious, can you post the APV data?
Idol trash here. What's your setup like, user?
I use the 3 flanges tips and can't ear passive trains next to my head
what is the /hpg/ approved headset?
I just did a little looking myself, and only found link related on the official website where the official rating was listed, where it's got a SNR rating of 18dB which is considered an average decibel reduction rating of the product.
Basically it's a European method of measuring how much noise it can reduce, similar to the NRR rating you should see on headphones / earplugs.
Where is this 27dB rating?
is the dude on the right from Caste in the Sky?
HD600 at home and waiting for my dx3pro to come
that pasta looks tasty
What's the point of the ER4 since heaps of other brands came out with products using the same BA for 1/5th price?
Damnit now I'm hungry. Oh well, it's lunchtime anyway.
DX3 Pro "left country of origin" way too long ago. Fingers crossed. There's a small hope I didn't get chinked.
mine's processing, super excited idol-chan :P
Is this where you work? I work in your building
Should I get wireless gaming-headset or just normal wireless headphones?
I don't give a fuck about mic. I just want something comfortable
But I read you don't get surround-sound with normal wireless headphones if, if I look at Sennheiser RS 175 which is for TV use
But how important is surround sound?
Problem is gaming headsets are so fucking ugly, even if I'm only gonna use it at home
But headphones are meant to be used outside to with your phone?
Whats my best option if I'm only looking for music/media from PC
Even gamers should just buy wireless headphones because they have better mics than gaming headsets. I would just use rtings and go by their raw frequency response because they have more data on wireless than anyone.
Also IMO the beat wireless solution is a good iem with a mmcx to Bluetooth adapter.
I remember some anons shitposting about these a couple threads ago so lets have an honest discussion.
Are they any good? Not as a disillusioned Zeos fanboy expecting a literal 660s for a third of the price, but with a more reasonable outlook. I've heard from other people that the 6xx might be a small amount better in technical terms, but I've also seen a lot of people say they enjoy the 58x more overall because of its sound signature, as well as its small perks like being cheaper and easier to drive.
I'm upgrading from some old HD 428's with onboard audio so either one will most likely be a noticeable upgrade. I plan on staying with onboard for now but I guess I could be convinced to get a cheap amp if necessary. I'm also interested in the felt mod for the 58x that I've heard improves them in some areas. What are your thoughts anons?
Get them, you don't need an amp. The upgrade after that is stax.
Are you kidding? Stax are garbage lol
They are objectively worse than any mid-fi dynamic headphones
You need to include a smug anime pic otherwise you're misleading the noobs.
$4000 SR-009 was rated lower in blind tests than a $200 K701
aes.org
LOL, Stax being audiophool meme confirmed
cringepilled
>her headphones don't have a loose male plug hanging from one end
Lol?
Wow, i was going to buy the L300 as my first stax. Fuck that, just going to go with the HD800s.
Based
It's probably due to some IQ ceiling effect of the listeners, sorta like how normal people are shit at sorting near colors by hue.
Any cheap amp will run HD6XX/600 but they aren't going to get very load out of onboard. I'd just get HD58X unless your onboard sounds like ass.
Yeah, but I'm confused because the title says Laputa: Castle in the Sky. Was he in that movie too?
Derp, I meant he looks like the guy from Castle of Cagliostro
It's Muska and Sheeta from Laputa.
this, may getting the b version in the future.
very nice sound, can hear every aqours member.
In what year was this made? Logitech desk mic? Kek.
change the mic part, still relevant af
Fucking wish lol. Data 61 is awesome.
Is fiio x3 a huge improvement over fiio x1? If the difference isnt much I'd rather go for the cheaper one.
>in college
>professor asks how you call it when you turn a cd into an mp3
>think to myself "transcode"
>"yes, correct, it's called compression!"
>cringe internally
Christ, that hurts.
>source: CD
>target: mp3
Options include:
- Ripping
- Ripping+Encoding
- Ripping+Crunching
- Crunching
- Transcoding
Absolutely not: Compression
(the word "crunching" works for lossy and lossless)
Thanks for restoring my faith in humanity a little, I feel better now
Your "professor" must be a douchebag and I bet he owns Bose or beats headphones
D10 or D30 with atom-chan. DT880S Is my cans.
Or marshall.
Snap
tonality is really good and can be made a identical to the hd660s with the felt mod, detail and speed are will not be changed by this mod and are better on the hd660s
Custom One Pro Plus + V-Moda Boompro.
No reason to go above D10 unless your USB ports are shitty.
>total poorfag, no amp or intent to ever get one.
HD58x.
>have/will get an amp at some point and can afford ~$300 headphone
HD600. They'll sound good but not to potential until you get an amp.
These are the options.
Just bought AKG M220. Is it worth buying headphone amp for them?
>M220
No. These are cheap crap, why would you invest in an amp? Just get better headphones, they'll make more of a difference.
>detail and speed are will not be changed by this mod and are better on the hd660s
on 600 and 650/6xx too
Your music was recorded with electrostatic technology, why would you settle for less when it comes to reproduction?
>an amp
How many hundreds of dollars do you need to spend on yet another snake oil thing you connect with cables until you get to the fabled "now that's an amp" category in this context?
Not him but they usually sound inferior and Etys are designed to be inserted past the 2nd bend of the canal.
He's dumb, HD600 doesn't need an amp. It can be powered by anything because of its high impedance.
>he keeps his headphones' potential locked
>unironically
It's just IT doing his usual Jewish manipulation. Leveraging the placebo effect to make more HD600 shills.
>It can be powered by anything
>because of its high impedance.
>"because of its high impedance."
idk if he's dumb, but you are definitively retarded
You'll be like 80% there without the amp. But you'll need an amp to get to 100% of what they can do.
are dt880s cute?
first time asking for advice on /hpg/, heres what im looking for
>$100 or less, willing to go up to 120 if its really worth it
>USA
>using these on my phone as well as laptop, so something that is portable. doesnt matter if it has bluetooth or is wired, i can accommodate both
>full-sized only
>id prefer something that doesnt hurt my ears after fifteen minutes, so something nice and soft. blocking outside sources is a huge plus
>neutral, i just want some good casual listening things for spotify and shit
>havent really had past headphones other than some xiaomi mi in-ears
>ease of portability is a major plus, im almost never home
what are my options?
Sennheiser HD 4.40
if they only block out 27db that is pretty terrible my 10$ ram cartel closed headphones block out 25db.
Go back to SBAF you uneducated swines.
What's good about electrostatic headphones other than low thd and high price tag.
Transients?
thanks! these are looking really good from some of the reviews im reading, and have exactly what i want from the price. still open to others though
Post purchase rationalization.
They make incels mad as fuck
nwavguy.blogspot.com
(blah blah + you need 110, ideally 115dB)
audiobot9000.com
(and try other amps)
Fact: Few amps get you to 110, even less to 115, and onboard definitely doesn't get you anywhere near that.
>high price tag
How poor are you?
Based and redpilled.
Very.
Hello hearing damage
t. (moron, amplet)
This single headphone invalidates the entirety of STAX.
trained listeners were used, not audiophools and basement dwelling fags
anyone who calls themselves a "trained listener" is a guaranteed audiophool
But how double pedal
Rekt.
A lab rat can be made into a trained listener.
Your point?
*blocks your path*
*takes a fat shit on every mid-fi headphone in existence*
wait, so listeners trained by samsung participated in a test done by samsung and found headphones made by samsung to be the best overall after being Eq'ed to samsung liking?
seems legit
That even a trained lab rab would prove him wrong.
Yes, but not as cute as baby Stax.
innerfidelity.com
No sub-bass and that 10k spike... not to mention the 1.5k etch, yikes
these are worth 100 bux at best, the fr is not very smooth at all regardless of the compensation
>No sub-bass
Bad seal
>10k spike
uncompensated resonance on the measuring rig, all innerfidelity graphs have a 10KHz spike
try harder poorfag
Yep what this guy said
>posts a 507 measurement
kek
the innerfidelity measurement is the only reputable l300 measurement
Magnets iffy, uh, incel got the stiffy, uh
Got STAX blicky, uh, volts it hit five eighty, uh
(STAAAAAAX Gaaaaaang!)
Clamp these niggas like a sennie nigga, you a brainlet nigga
In the thread with them stat niggas, and them magnet niggas
You run up and they zappin niggas, we ain't brappin nigga
Nostaxer, you a loser nigga, up that voltage nigga
>wake up
>still nostax
>consider suicide
my daily life
stax so bad it makes a k701 looks good
nobass
How do I pick an Amp/dac for mostly pcgaming and music? Using DT990/250's.
Uhh no my K701 gets barely any use now
you pick the cheapest one, knowing it's all the same and there is no point in spending more on an amp than you did on the headphones
get something from fiio, the monoprice desktop headphone amp or maybe even the shit fulla, just don't go over $100
>using colored stax
>instead of L700
Why even live.
Topping DX3 Pro (dac+amp) if you can afford it.
Else $99 JDSLabs Atom (amp) and your onboard soundcard (dac).
No need to go mad. Something like SMSL M3 is fine.
