University is a shitshow

How the FUCK do you find the energy and motivation to study all day every day?

By not being a pathetic beta

You failed since you come to Jow Forums

You don't. Just cheat at the exams.

>Going to University without goals.

lol

>studying all day
Do people actually do this?

Whats Jow Forums ? Do you mean 4channel ?

Well you can't just learn everything from taking notes

>studying all day every day
hahaha I'm so glad I didn't choose to study in STEM. I go to college (officially called "university of applied sciences") for 3-5 hours a day and only study at home before exams. Oh and there are no lectures on monday currently lmao

Naaaaaaah just fucking delete that I do not need tht right now

Yeah but all day? You'll burn yourself out.

Well great, that's when you do physical exercise and go to sleep.

I don't

I don't understand why you wouldn't go to community college first?
You can get general ed done for less than $50 a unit and you'll be able to gauge whether you'll hate the path you chose before it's too late and you're $50k in the hole.

>have 3 presentations
>wish I could be doing something else
>lose hair and sleep over gpa
I don't know.
I wish I never went.

I'm with you. Can't fucking take it anymore. Would have killed myself long ago, if it weren't for my parents.
I just can't take it anymore. I am so jealous at people having free time, at people going outside. All I want is to be able to go home and put my feet up, but no, I can't do that. I have to make projects for instructors who are too fucking lazy to even reply to my emails.

In fact, I am procrastinating right now. Back to it.

Helped me a lot.

iktfb

This. I wish I'd joined the military.

Do americans really take out $50k loans at 18 just so they go straight into university from high school when they don't even know what they want yet?

Is this really some widespread thing that happens?

Yes.

Just drop out now, if you really hate it that much. I felt the same way you did when I was in college, and just barely graduated (BS in Computer Engineering). However since I'm not "passionate" about it and hate doing tech stuff in my free time, I wound up getting a shit job with shit pay that I hate. The only way for me to get out of this is to move up in tech by building muh portfolio with side projects (which as you can tell by now, I don't do because I hate it) or switching careers altogether. I wish I hadn't gone to college, or went into something else.

Problem is that I study, but uni is anything but helping.
I think I will make my own company soon, which will not require some fucking paper which literally proves that you spent 4 fucking years just doing anything but your subj. Fuck humanities shit, I want to make machines, not spreading bullshit about diversity.

I never had to study much for any subjects, so I finished them all with ease.

I never finished my thesis, because it required me to work on it 24/7 for months.

>he went to college to learn computers and programming

Attached: AAAAAAAAAAAAA.jpg (474x473, 12K)

I study independently and take only classes that matter online. I pay little to nothing for all these online classes to form an elite education that is peculiar to exactly what my career choice will be.

>school to learn comp and prog
Sounds like the quintessential boomer cuck. Kek

Don't apply that logic to applicants. Seriously, you will only get the most brainless and shitstained fuckers that way. It isn't worth it.

Imagine you were going deep into debt over this, and it was your best hope of not spending your life flipping burgers or explaining to 70 year olds how to restart their computers.
Also, study better. An hour spent actively doing shit (solving problems, writing explanations to yourself, etc) is worth 5 hours reading shit.

Holy fucking shit this hits close to home.

I recently dropped out of my masters to get a job and sponsor my wife's visa. But now I think I'm going to get back to school, as I actually really like this job (.net dev) and its renewed my energy. Previously I was kinda burning out of uni but I now contacted my study advisor and will resume studying as of fall 2019 :)

I'm a second year CS student. Got second honors for the first semesters, was among top 5% freshman's in CS department in my uni. Got straight A's in Calculus I/II, Concrete Math, Programming classes, but honestly, I didn't study a lot during classes, I just studied it before by myself, didn't have to go the lectures and prepare for the exam. Though I was working hard on the assignments and homework's.

However, now, everything seems dull and boring: I got Linear Algebra class, Digital Logic (circuits staff, which is ok until some point), DataStr&Alg (cool subject, but tutor is asshole, book sucks, not challenging enough), besides, and some boring shit like System Analysis and Sociology. Probably I'll get C's in all except DataStructures&Algorithms. I constantly lose interest, as I have more and more theoretical stuff, which I don't really care about. I would remove all subjectc from CS curriculum except Algorithms and Math, and make it 1 1/2 - 2 year program. Sucks. Doing Elixir/Phoenix in my freetime, the only one hope. University is scam, but I have to stay in order to get job/degree/parents.

Just drop out like I did, flipping burgers isn't so bad as it sounds.

Why are you placing spaces before your erotemes? Is english not your first language?

Attached: .gif (480x270, 3.87M)

I just want the piece of paper. I haven't learned anything at uni that I couldn't have learned reading w3schools.

this meme is what keeps me going to college unironically.

Better kill yourself right now, failure.

what will your career be?

you're supposed to used the marking rubric to complete assignments in a way that's impossible to mark down. snipe easy marks if you put your GPA on your resume everyone will laugh at you

Explaining 70 year olds how to restart computers is a comfy low-energy job. And flipping burgers is okay I guess.

sounds like you should have gone for software engineering, computer science is supposed to be a much more theoretical discipline than most people make it out to be

congrats you fell for the biggest legal racketeering scheme in modern history

What's wrong with this? I'm currently taking a math, science, english, and foreign language class at community college trying to figure out what the HECK I want to do.

only brainlets study every day. I just did (most of the) homework assignments and reviewed the week before an exam

What about in shitty classes where the professors don't teach and expect you to learn everything through reading?

I should've gone for the Computer Programming Diploma in some community college. But in my europoor country there are no good community colleges, unlike in USA. Was thinking about going to UK, but I didn't hold A levels. I actually go to the private university (I pay 4500eur per year), which is considered to be top on CS in my country.

You only need to study 2 months topsn in uni.

I read the book, or I befriend the single qt that doesn't belong there, who gets a beta orbiter to do the work for her and get past semester exams (those lazy fucks always use old test question)) and we share the answers

existential anxiety can be a hell of a motivator if you manage to beat fatalism.

Normies have a strange ability to force themselves to do things they don't like.
I honestly don't understand it

I dropped out and still got a nice job

> be me in 2013
> get a few scholarships for college
> work 2 part time jobs ontop of 21-23 credit hours of schooling
> make enough money to both have to take out loans
> 2017 stop working because I want to die
> take out 10k in loans for 5th year (going for double major)
> graduate in 2018 with degree in comp sci and data forensics
> get starting job at 60k + benefits really close to home
> pay off 10k loan before the year is over.

Weak people don't deserve bright futures user

Where are you from user?

it's called willpower

>studying every day

> How the FUCK do you find the energy and motivation to work all day every day?
Just get on welfare and post r9k memes about "wagies" if you can't handle it.

You first realize, that as an adult, every single day you're going to have to do something that really sucks.
That could be going through a gigantic pile of notes to learn floating point, or it could be running every morning to keep from being fat. So you just do it. You create a schedule and follow it, every single day. After university your life gets even harder, because now you have jobs/family obligations or even harder if you run your own company, plus you need to keep learning at the same pace of university in order to remain relevant in the world. So if you think it is hard now, just wait 10 years when you need to schedule daily run+family+job+learning whatever new tech.

It may be possible to get a job you kinda enjoy, I think
And running errands is sometimes even kinda fun, especially if you like driving like me.

S-Shut up. Everything will be just fine

Attached: 1454119659503.jpg (225x225, 9K)

18 year olds are just too naive to be trusted with that kind of money

I didn't. Just breezed though university and I maintained a 4.0 GPA.
Ironically now that I'm writing my thesis I have ground to an almost complete halt due to mental and physical problems.

if you have the money do it but while you're there you're accruing debt and missing out on opportunities to move up in whatever job you have

Yeah by now he could be an assistant manager at McDonald's

>go to cc 5years
>switch around cause you hate shit toward the end of the transfer.

Any 'real' job (running your own company is still just a job really, just more underpaid to start), will require a lot of side work every single day of learning new things. Much of this will be totally shitty. For example if you're running your own freelancing biz, you'll still need to go through hours worth of legal and tax documentation on a regular basis, or entering receipts ect ect. If your job is 'porn director' you will still have to deal with coked out actresses showing up late and panicking over the budget. You just embrace the suck and the rewards from the hard work become all the more sweeter.

>gigantic piles to learn floating point
Is this a joke? Floating point operations are extremely simple, unless you’re talking about understanding how an ALU/FPU actually incorporates them.

What the hell is a 'real' job? Are manufacturing jobs not real?

>I haven't learned anything at uni that I couldn't have learned reading w3schools.
Yes, but if you played your cards right you could've gotten connections and internships that would be much more difficult to get without being in college.
The paper is nice, but being able to have a launchpad into a successful career is why you should go to college.

i live in a first world country
college is free

If you work in a field you truly like and are interested in, you'll know all about the new technologies way before it will become necessary at work.

any fool can take out credit, below 3.8 is unemployable

>free
you pay with taxes

>below 3.8 is unemployable
hahahaaghaahahahah

>you pay with taxes
I don't work and get paid social welfare benefits + a grant every month just for attending

pays the bills and gives you motivation to get the fuck out of the restaurant world asap and find a reason to go to college

people that work pay taxes.
your welfare comes from people that work

>you pay with taxes
You pay taxes too, don't you? The difference is my taxes go towards retards going to college and medical bills of fat fucks, while yours go towards bombing Israel's enemies

>yours go towards bombing Israel's enemies
i don't live in murica
try again

All tripfags should be hanged by the neck until dead.

Afghanistan, Somalia? Gimme a hint or something

Southern Europe

You forgot how young works huh.. old man.

But I don't pay taxes, so I'm not paying for college

Chapter 3.11 in CSApp, floating point architecture is not exactly a thrilling read. doing assembly level conversions and arithmetic operations with XMM registers.
Chapter 4.2.2 in TAOCP proving why floating point is not associative is not exactly the most thrilling use of your time either

people that pay taxes pay for your college educashion

I bet that your universities are funded publicly as well, except that they also charge the students.

What about the high VAT taxes you pay on everything?

Correct. it's around 1000 euros a year

Nothing competed to a lifetime of crippling debt, I have extra cash left over every week

Italy, right? Do all students pay the tuition or are there free spots for the best students?

But I'm not paying for it

>what is a sales tax
>what is a gas tax
Do you buy things? Ever taken a bus? you're paying a fuel or commodity tax somewhere even if you're a total bum on welfare and society parasite

Portugal. the are some scholarships for poor students but the best students might receive some benefits. i don't remember
