My dick is 1080p.

I had a doctor look at it. He said it was inoperable.

Comfy.

The main drawback for me is laptops and phones with 1440p+ resolutions don't provide a ton of benefit but take away precious battery life, not to mention that laptops aren't suited to doing anything remotely intensive with graphics at resolutions above 1080p.

It's nice to be able to view content at the same resolution on multiple devices.

The only reason I would want more than 1080p would be on a monitor bigger than 27", but right now I'm fine with 24" 1080p.

I never realized how /comfy/ 1080 anime looked like until one day I watched some on my phone during a long haul layover.

Thank you for admitting what /spg/ will not. They think we live in the future and have some sort of advanced solid-state battery technology to power all this shit (or they just live their lives next to an outlet). If anything I would prefer phones with smaller screens and 720p resolution. A modern version of my old Xperia Z3 Compact would be great.

I find that aside from sharpness, there is not much benefit and it can actually make things more complicated than they need to be. For a long time I didn't even think I needed to go above 1080p on my desktop monitor. But my 27" QHD monitor changed my mind on that. There is a benefit, you can fit more stuff on the screen, but you need a larger screen to really take advantage of it.

I was once like this, minus the 1080p smartphone (I had a 240p Blackberry Curve 9300). Dark times man, being a poor student sucked.

>1080p TV I use for watching LaserDiscs, at least the built-in scaler is good
>1920x1200 desktop I use for watching 4:3 and 16:9 content
>1024x768 laptop I use for managing shitboxes on-location
>960x540 phone I use to watch 1080p porn

I got the QHD screen on my work T480s mostly because it's way brighter than the 1080p screen, but scaling is a pain in the ass, some apps don't like to work at 175%. I had a 1080p T450 before and it was mostly fine at 125%, 100% was small as fuck but manageable.

Same, super comfy.
>Phoneposting on a technology board.

I have a 1080p W520 at home and I find that it's the perfect screen size / resolution combo. I can use it at 100% scaling with no issues, programs all work, it's great. For a while I had a 15" Latitude at work but the screen resolution was 1366x768. It was shit. I would much rather have my wife's Surface Pro 4, sure the resolution can be annoying at times, but it's way easier to live with a high resolution on a small screen than a low resolution on a large screen.

Have my upvote.

Meanwhile I'm using a MacBook Pro with 2880x1800 IPS.
If I want to buy a monitor with these specs, it's >$1000.
Why hasn't retina resolution spread beyond Apple products?

What's so great about 1080? Why not go higher?

>only 232 pixels more than 1024x768
I don't get the appeal.

Meanwhile you're a subhuman troglodyte that thinks low res retina trash is good.
