Any other Firefox addons I should install? Are any of these redundant?

So you know the news

Are there any tools I can use to rip a tumblr blog in its entirety? Including text and video.

I had a windows install in my SSD raid 0. I got a new SSD and installed fedora there, but it didn't recognice my windows drive, now when I boot it goes straight to fedora, and to boot windows I have to press F12 and bring out Bios Boot menu to boot on my windows. how do I fix this and switch to dual boot?

>I'm going to upgrade my PC, is a jump from 8gb to 16gb RAM good? 32gb sounds overkill.
>If 16 is good, should i get another 8gb and have two of them, or should i get one 16gb?
Pic related is my PC. I bought it on a budget years ago.

It's almost christmas and my parents always feel bad if they can't get me something i want. I can't think of anything else, as when i need something i buy it myself, i'm a grown man. PC upgrading has been on the backburner for well over a year now, so why not?

What will you be using it for?

Videogames. I have no idea which, but i want to play at at least high settings 60 fps.
(i'm buying a graphics card myself though)

whats a good place to start learning programming?

>Programming questions?
please read the OP

that thread will never give anyone advice dude. far too elitist.

Have you tried asking?

they told me to fuck off

lok into opencourseware dude. basically it lets you audit past classes for free. you get no credit but you'll learn shit

if youre getting a new graphics card, and youre only using it for gaming, then the specs are fine as is, you wont notice a huge difference between 8gb and 16gb of ram.
if that HDD is 5200rpm, tho, then i would upgrade to a 7200rpm. may i recommend seagate (wd sucks)

Unless you're planning to get a Ryzen CPU, I'd say stick with what you've got, 8GB is enough in 2018 even though people like to pretend it isn't.

where's the lewd anime op

Attached: f86000b5.png (500x410, 95K)

also another thing, they said to stop including there threads in the OP of /sqt/

they don't want people coming over there from here, which is exactly what I did

If I've installed drivers that are malicious on Windows, would the malware be likely to survive OS reinstall / changing to Linux?
Just a hypothetical.

>OS reinstall
Highly doubt it, unless you transferred them to a different drive too

if you gave it admin permissions then enjoy getting rid of your rootkits

boot into safe-mode and run malwarebytes

Can you get a virus from an mp4?

I found an expensive download on a sketchy site and all the video files are .bin executables but if I convert it to mp4 they play as videos.

Currently I’m uploading them to a personal mega to watch but idk if that’s too much paranoia

totally possible

yes it is totally possible to get malware from .bin files. I think it's scary that they gave your the mp4 files as bin files!

anyone know what the connector is on the top left of this? or is it totally proprietary?

scuzzy? maybe

How do I check which one of my disks is faster

crystal disk info

also, i know for a fact that you can convert its signal to video (VGA), if that helps narrow it down

h20195.www2.hpe.com/v2/getdocument.aspx?docname=c04282677
google.com/search?q=hp i/o connector adapter

then its not scuzzy at all.

Make sure to get the weeb version

For a project i want to build a small pc with a save point itI can return to each time the pc is turned off.
Because this computer will need the power of a gpu, i cant use a vm.

Any idea how to do this?

I cant posts pics because of abuse? Wtf!!!

If aomeone could create a thread for me, i would be very thankfull.
I cant create one because I would need to uplade a image which niggerchan prohibits me from doing so

Do you guys know if laptops have a RAM limit?
I have this old(ish) Lenovo with 4GB RAM (welded) and an extra RAM slot.
I'm afraid I'll fuck it up if I add more RAM than it can handle (if that's even a thing).

>refurbished on amazon
>$100
fuck. that.
thanks tho

>laptops have a RAM limit?
yes

look up the model number and find the users manual. it should tell you somewhere in there the max amount of ram supported

Why do I get pic related when viewing images on Sankaku Complex?

I could really use some help Jow Forumsentlemen.
How can I generate three-address codes (otherwise known as quadruples table) for this arithmetic expression grammar while keeping in mind the precedence and associativity of the operators? I'm working with bison and have the data structure for the quad table

I really don't want to browse hundreds of pajeet videos on youtube, also why are indians the only people making courses about compiler design?

I got a new case and after assembling it I found out that the audio ports aren't working. I opened up the case and found the interfaces for them, but they don't seem to be plugged into anything. Do I need to get something to make them work? I figured I wouldn't have to since the case has the audio jacks ubilt into them like this. Does anyone know what I need to get in order for these to work? This is the case, by the way.

Just used the UserBenchMark program for the hell of it and found out my RAM is preforming 50% worse than average benchmark.
What should my reaction be? Is the test flawed or is it something going on with my hardware or software?

I'm using a 2 sticks of G Skill DDR4 3000 8GB on an Asrock AB350 Pro4.

I've got a job (some basic engineering) that requires me to carry windows laptop around. Sometimes it's a pain in the ass to obtain the permission to drag it with me to the workplace (war plants etc.) and some times I have to work on ladders or in tight places.
So I'm thinking about buying a relatively cheap tiny laptop so I could simply put it in my pocket or working with it handheld.
There is no much of an options as far as I concern. For now I've found used GPD WIN (latest edition of the first generation) in a fair condition for a $200 and almost new GPD pocket 2 for $350, should I pay almost double extra, is atom z8750 powerful enough to run basic office and CAD apps? Should I consider other brands/models?

is it possible to encrypt a single folder (of constantly varying/increasing size) on windows?

Yes. First you install Linux, then you install ecryptfs.

Let's say I have a 2 TB drive for daily use and two backup drives 1 TB each. Is it possible to tell rsync to back up half the data to each backup drive?

Had a Chuwi tablet/laptop with an Intel z-series chip in it. It was ok, I had it running Photoshop fairly ok besides a correctable issue with the higher resolution display, so I'm certain it could run office ok, maybe an older version would be better. It was slow though, so I don't imagine running CAD apps would be fun.

Can you do it on a phone? They are usually as powerful or more so than these z-series chips. Maybe get a keyboard.

If you really need a laptop I wouldn't recommend going for a gimped pocketable device, as cute as they are.

>Can you do it on a phone?
Unfortunately I'm not, I'm stuck with some proprietary windows soft for controllers with RS-485 interface, maybe I could make it run on linux, but if something will go wrong on a field - there would be not much I will be able to do there.

You have to put the torrent in a paused state you absolute retard.
No shit it would continue to download shit if you moved it WHEN THE TORRENT IS STILL ACTIVE AND RUNNING

The weakest link here is the gpu/monitor, you should move to 144hz and a 1070 (or greater) to push it.

is this perpetuum mobile?

Unironically I would recommend a ThinkPad, nice laptops that make the right compromises. I understand the desire for something smaller though. I'm interested in these pocketable devices but remain unconvinced.

Recommendations for .m4p to mp3 convertors?
The .m4p probably has some DRM protection because it's from apple music, aka a streaming service.

Tampermonkey is cucked, use Violentmonkey

That's already in the pipeline, but i feel it's way too expensive to whish for for christmas. I'll buy that myself when i get that far

Sounds like a job for a tablet. Isn't Autodesk pushing a lot of tablet apps nowadays?

...

what's the best program to record videos and audio that doesnt record from the speaker off snapchat? using an android phone btw

AZ screen recorder

What's a decent cheap VR option that's not Oculus or Vive for PC VR?

I can't deal with phone VR but I don't want to pay $600 to jerk off.

Try real life you fuckin loser.

Excellent answer! But now we'll ask someone who isn't mentally retarded to answer the question

This implies that you, yourself, are mentally retarded.

>I don't want to pay $600 to jerk off.
Use normal porn like someone who isnt mentally retarded.
VR is a gimmick and you pay the price for the gimmick

>wants to jack off using VR porn
>calls someone else mentally retarded
Hurrr

That's a weird idea to go from currently used toughbook to the thinkpad. I have a laptop, there are some specific issues why it's not a perfect solution sometimes. Sometimes I need to just change few variables and forced to spend half of a day to fill paperworks to be allowed to bring a laptop with me.
CAD's were given as a most heavy application the computer must run. I'm stuck with old terminal soft for Siemens, ABB and other industrial controllers that run windows NT or some proprietary OS's with windows interface.

Tablet with a windows could work, but most of them have even slower atom chips or much more expensive and larger as a microsoft surface for example.

My phone is charging way too slow (despite saying quick charging), not really my phone's fault since I have another charger.
So, could it be the cable instead of the charger?
I'll just name to make things easier to understand:
>AUKEY charger + TypeC to C = ok
>Xiaomi charger + TypeA to C = slow as shit / sometimes stop charging

Any know reason why this happen? Mi5.

Still using a GTX 670 here. Should I consider to buy a new GPU is I wanna play ~2 year old games on highest settings?

Just try another cable and you will see for sure.

>Xiaomi
Chink shit is chink shit

That wasn't me. Anyway, VR porn has it's uses. I'd just prefer to do it on the computer because I don't feel like removing my fuck huge helmet every time I want to skip forward a few seconds or click something else.

Pretty sure you could pick and choose apps whose content would be hidden on the lock screen on Android before. Now it seems you can only choose to hide everything or nothing.

Am I wrong? Is there a way to get this useful functionality back?

Go to the app and turn off notifications in the permissions

I don't want it off. I just want its content hidden on the lock screen for that specific app.

You can mass censor or turn off, your only options.

where can i create or get a .iso, i have to create forensics assignment where you look for stuff in a disk image but I dont want to use my own storage devices because m paranoid

Fug.

what iso? Any iso? You can download the image of the LiveDVD of any distro of your choice if you need a random iso

does there exist small disk image files i can use for this?

I tried installing W10 from a usb on a optiplex 990 and it says I need to format the hardrive to NTFS but I can't format it for some reason. There were other issues but I installed ubuntu to get rid of the windows install and another issue is that it does not recognize the partition. Ubuntu runs fine but I can't install windows. Any solutions?

What's a good secure hard drive eraser that a brainlet like me can easily use?

I've deleted all the files off my hard drive, I want to be sure it's all gone now. But I looked at DBan and I'm worried with that I'll do something retarded like wipe my current drive as opposed to the external one that I want to.

I have "Eraser" currently set to 35 passes on "Unused Disk Space" and Partition: OS (F:).
To be honest I don't know what I'm doing, or if this is a really good program but I'd rather get this done.

Google will probably be more helpful than sqt, I'd help but I never figured out the answer.
(I had the same problem a while ago and resolved to just use f12 when I wanted to boot to ubuntu, because I didn't need to switch that often.)

yeah because you were booting to windows main, I'm booting to fedora main, fuck this shit

BitBleach

t. Hilary

I should also mention it's an SSD
And I'm on Windows

Thanks, I'll look into this

>35 passes
Holy shit annon, it will be 2019 before that literal meme finishes. You need one pass. Maybe 3 if you're a paranoid motherfucker but at that point I'd just smash the drive with a hammer, because if the .0001% chance that anything at all is ever extracted at that point is that much of a concern to you, it's not worth the cost of a drive.

This only applies to HDDs though. SSDs you need to use the secure erase tool provided by the manufacturer and take out the whole thing. Only way.

If you're worried about nuking the wrong drive, just physically disconnect everything else first.

Yeah I did a bit of research after making that post and removed the 35 pass thing
There's honestly nothing bad on there, but I'm going to be giving it in and I just wouldn't want any personal files like browser log ins or passwords or whatever to somehow end up being found.

Is that a logical worry or am I being stupid there? That's kind of my whole thing, I guess I've been so caught up on if I could, I never thought about if I even should.
Do all manufacturers of SSD's provide a secure erase tool? I'm not completely certain what model mine is, but I can easily check.

I think it's a SK Hynix Canvas SC300 512GB M.2. Is a pass going to be literally useless then? I set it to run as 3 pass. I don't have loads of time though, have to give it in tomorrow

How do I make the things I circled go away?

Attached: Capture.png (1966x920, 253K)

Can I delete the "Public" and "Templates" folders? Or is there ever going to be a time when I need them for something?

First google result

ssd.skhynix.com/ssd/en/support/download.jsp

Overwriting free space doesn't really work on SSDs. They don't give that kind of low level access over to the OS, and they're designed in such a way that part or all of a deleted file might still be hiding alongside undeleted shit or in the reserve part of the SSD.

It's unlikely that anybody is going to pull your shit off of there, but it is good practice to clear any drive before you get rid of it. There could be personal or financial information or who knows what.

Thanks, guess I've been doing all this passing and erasing for no reason. I might let the passes run anyway, then double check the drive and use the respective tool. Thanks for the help user

When using my GPU for something more intense, the fans ramp up to 100% for like 5 seconds every so often, and then go back to idle speed.

What's going on here, and is there a way to stop it?

OS: Windows 7
GPU: GTX 1050

Is there a WM that does the same thing as a tiling one but keeps one window (e.g. web browser) centered and everything else goes around it?

by using custom css rules
use the inspector element tool to figure out the appropriate ids/classes to hide

Ok I was looking at my OC settings in my BIOS again. I have an 8700k.

I have Multi-core Enhancement set to auto
Sync-All-Cores set to Auto
CPU core voltage set to auto

Does this even do anything for me? I figured this would just make it so my 8700k will boost all cores to 4.7Ghz when one of them hits 4.7Ghz. Cause that's all I want is for all of my cores to get up to 4.7Ghz under max load I guess since I have a small case and I don't want excess voltage causing heat.

I could use a little advice about mobile hotspots, which I know nothing about. I'm trying to help my parents set up internet at my grandmas old farmhouse, which as I found out today, has access to no satellite or broadband internet. The technician I was talking to that checked the signal said to try using a T mobile hotspot out there, and that's what he used himself. Looks like the house is right next to a T mobile signal/post and the connection he got was strong. Now I'm talking to T mobile and they're saying to get an iPhone 7 to use as the hotspot device cause of it having the best antenna for it or something. Does anyone know anything about using a phone as essentially a router for a house? I'd rather stay away from apple if I can, but if an iPhone will actually work the best, I'll go with it. Any other thoughts?

Will my computer suffer any internal damage if I don't turn it on for prolonged periods of time while still plugged into the outlet?

Windows disk space just blows my mind, I don't remember when this started happening but I've lost 18GB from just two weeks ago when this started becoming a problem for me. I've went from 50GB to 32GB available over the past two weeks and I have not installed anything. Disk clean-up doesn't do anything and I am lost as to what the hell is eating away my space.

some programs look for them as default locations but nothing bad happens if they cant find them
