If you're archiving anime, no amount of TBs is enough.

Maybe

for RAM

making a video game console emulator machine

Yes. Unless you're emulating the PS4 or Xbox One.

It may be enough if you want 500GB (the other 500GB are mirrored) effective storage with a modest degree of safety against failure, or 1TB of storage for data that may disappear.

Isn't 2TB much cheaper for the TB without losing on any speed or reliability?

Oh, you're doing a pre-built and thus can't make logical decisions. Yeah, 1TB should probably be enough leg-room depending on how many ass-huge games you want on it. And buying more space if and when you need it is cheap enough.

It's a little more expensive, but I'd say it's worth it.

1 TB is overkill. 512 is enough.

If you need more than that, just buy an external.

With that much shit you need to start thinking of a real storage solution instead of a bunch of drives. Seriously nigga it's time to build a NAS and get a sick 30TB RAID array

> get a sick 30TB RAID array
Implying I don't already have a lot more than 30TB of data.

fuck off back to plebbit

>back to plebbit
implying I ever went on plebbit

Make a NAS server.

he meant its cheaper in terms of value, 2tb is 150% the price of 1tb, sometimes less.

For movies? not so much anymore, for some goddamn reason encoding makes every movie 1 to 1.5 gb per movie now. Even YIFY shit is that high now so you have about 700-800 before you fill up that bad boy

For?

...

20k shows at 50GB is only 1PB, and that's probably a great overestimate of the space requirements considering most shows don't have bluray releases.

yup. ive been baking up photos from my dslr and home videos and stuff for the last 10 years on one 1tb drive.

as long as your not shooting 4k video it is proably grand.

if you are buying drives now though i would get 2 2tb.

one for main and a backup you only plug in once a week.
