We got a mandatory new service that costs more per month than our old service, yet provides essentially the same speeds and issues

That's what happens when you let Rupert Murdoch control your country

compared to your adsl2 and shit its good but anyone outside of australia find it trash

As a New Zealander, I get to look down on you using my vastly superior internet connectivity.

Too bad you never managed to kill off your native population like we did in Tasmania. So suck a fat one.

>23 Mbps = 2875 kB/s
>for me

>yet provides essentially the same speeds
Nah, bro. I was on 600 kB/s speeds before the NBN, but I'm outside of the city.

Not the best but it's peak time and i have unlimited.

Never really found a need for more, can do 4k, download games in

Until you get arrested forplaying those REPUGNANT japanese CP gaymes

Most people I know have good 50 Mbps connections with 2 having 100mbps, all are mostly happy with it. Meanwhile no NBN until end 2020 and stuck with unstable pic related. Been using 4G for 5 years now.

It's pretty good. But I am paying $110 a month for it.

No issues with me

Even BFV launch on origin was 8mb/sec at it's slowest

What download region do you use for Steam?

Aus- QLD

>mfw you phone tether

I'm on the Kogan(Vodafone) pre-paid plan

It was at 3am, so the air was pretty quiet.

It really depends on where you live and what you had.

I used to have 120/3 mbps on Telstra for $120 a month.

Now I'm on 100/30 mbps for $70 a month.

NBN has worked out just fine for me, but I hear some people got properly fucked.

Yes
Seen it as low as 50kb/s

- Mandatory because of law
- Costs more money than old service because you need to invest in capex used to deploy the new service
- In most cases provides better speeds than ADSL2+ -- even though the latter is sufficient for most people's use cases.
- The libs were right about the NBN. There's no Murdoch conspiracy.

invest in capex -> cover capex

I want to die

I pay $60/mo for unlimited. In NZ I'd be getting gigabit for about the same, or maybe a bit more depending on the exchange rate.

it’s great if you were lucky enough to get FTTP. it was always going to cost more. literally part of the business case.
nah, the libs were wrong. lot of money spent on hfc only to work out that it was fucked. too many complaints about fttn issues.

New Zealand masterrace, eat shit abbocados.

Australia really should be ashamed of the NBN, it had such potential early on with the FTTP build out. Sad to see what it has become.
