>What is Jow Forumsternet? Quite some time ago, when Net Neutrality dissapeared in the USA, Jow Forums wanted to make its own Internet dubbed Jow Forumsternet.
The project has made quite some progress and is at a pretty nice stage at the moment. More info can be found in the Jow Forumsternet Wiki: mesh.gentoo.today
>This project is dead OP, just let it die Yes, I know it's dead. Hence why I called these threads Revival Threads. I really think this is a neat idea that has quite some potential. So yeah, please do contribute as much as you can anons!
Read up on the Read Me and the TODO in the repository and study the code if you want to and give any suggestions you might have! Also, if you're unfamiliar with this project, I recommend reading the previous threads that have been posted on the Wiki.
Seems like a really cool project, too bad it´s dead. We might recover it, make a discord (who uses IRC anyways.. heh) and plan things a bit better. Also build some test apps (mainly client app/web) so it could attract more ppl. (Maybe integrate Jow Forums in it? I know they have API..)
Carson Evans
kek We all know that Jow Forums isn't hard enough for that, though. It'd get people trolling and maybe one or two people trying to post that shit, but mostly normal conversation
Jonathan Hall
Computer shit like this is so important, but I went into biology and therefore can do nothing
William Peterson
I almost forgot about this, how's the project going?
Look at the git repository! It had come quite a way and is a decent program now but a bit too simple and can definitely use improvement. The TODO list has some objectives!
Henry Lewis
nigger just use cjdns
Adam Wilson
The thing is, i2p works over the Internet while Jow Forumsternet is supposed to be a decentralised standalone network that uses bridges over Internet to connect to other local networks.
Hunter Perry
Hello FBI agent here to spread FUD and discourage use of this.
Brayden Lopez
How can I help?
Jaxon Cox
what are the advantages of a global mesh as opposed to current standards (big cables and radio towers)? Surely it would be way slower if you want to download something from a server in china and it has to be routed through like 10k nodes, no?
you are glowing
Ayden Rogers
seconding this the wiki is missing "get started" page
Andrew Edwards
There's a TODO list in the Git repository. I suggest reading up on the code and then seeing whether you can improve anything. Perhaps if you don't have the knowhow you can work on improving the Wiki!

How do I connect/find websites on this. I downloaded the file now what?
Very interesting OP, bumping. Also make this a daily thread, so we can collaborate.

You forgot a 't' there bud, it's "tcp distribution".
Jose Myers

Ryder Bell
Yeah, I'm planning to make this daily! It's nice to see that there are many anons that are interested.
Owen Wright
I would like to but it's not my project... Seems like the original creator has given up on it. We could create a new repository and start from there.
Lucas Edwards
if such project was revived without no way to ban drugs, child porn & blackhat activity, it will never achieve status as anything else but hideout for degenerate subhumans, criminals & drugheads. >niggers & pedos ruined tor
Jayden Cox
it's not gonna work stop trying
Colton Jenkins
ATTENTION: OP is an ugly tranny. Beware.

>without no way to ban X >implementing censorship scheme on a free network
not going to happen. When exit nodes will be implemented, there will probably be a whitelist for trusted nodes. (this was discussed earlier)
I have backups but they are almost a year old now. There will be a brand new map
