Once it’s clear Moore’s law cannot be sustained and quantum computing is a meme, just how fucked is humanity? Will we entire a 1000 year dark age of technifeudalism where no one owns anything and privacy doesn’t exist?

When will Moore's law end?
apparently it's already dead
Why would you break the line like that instead of adjusting the trendline for the whole dataset? Do you know it's going to continue on a plateau?
Communism will rise again
And end of Moore's law relates to this how?
That graph has nothing to do with Moore's law
Like 5 years ago.
No, ASIC will become much more popular.
thats the opposite of feudalism
We can still improve things by many means:
- better architecture (the x86 harks back to early 70's)
- use multi player chips
- use more advanced materials such as InP
- better designs such as dual rail logic, self clocking logic
- RSFQ logic
There is plenty of opportunities left. These will be expensive though and even today most home computers are fast enough.
Clock speed has nothing to do with Moore's law
Keek
Holding out for 5 THz
>adjusting the trend line for the whole dataset
Because they wanted to show that moore's law was previously in effect, and now is not
No. The societal benefits of cheaper processing power ended when cell phones came into existence. And besides, price per performance continues to increase at a good rate.
I meant to reply to OP
never gonna happen
Any word on directed self assembly yet?
>moore's law is over
>quantum computing is a meme
Brainlets go home.
>quantum computing is a meme
there are other methods of parallel computing you know
>WILL we enter
>2005ish
Hmmmm
>Seriously asking this
Really, faggot? After these futurist faggots whacked off to Moore's Law for 20 fucking years, now it's just "who cares"? Neck yourself.
