Too much emphasis on album art, if you set default tap behavior to 'put into queue' there is zero way to normally play a song. Even within the same album folder the player insists of having each song display their album art. Visualizations are for losers and you can't disable the visualization selector pane entirely. The new freaky seekbar is blocked by the player controls and is prone to accidental touches. Just tapping on the album art snaps you into playlist view.

It's impressive how shit it was compared to the alpha theme, which was a perfect execution in minimalism.

Gonna have to agree with you on that. It always was kinda stupid to have to live with the visualization menu NO MATTER WHAT. That alpha was some good stuff, and they had to go and ruin it.

I have used BlackPlayer for a long time. It has been the only one that allows me to be autistic about how my library is setup and organized (which categories to view, how they are ordered, how you drill down, etc.)
Also, its internal media library seems to function a lot better than Android's built-in one.

I ended up trying Sony music player, and yeah, this app is very good. Not rooted though, so I can't use any of the audio settings :( . Still, i like the ui, and it doesn't feel bloated.

I just realized that PowerAmp updated and I absolutely hate the new UI. I used a Material skin that blended in with the rest of the system and that is apparently no longer supported.

Is there any way to downgrade?
