Best tiling wm?

Best tiling wm?

CoC'D

awrsome wm IMO

Who gives a shit?

xmonad looks promising, but I'm not gonna change i3 to switch to another wm based on xorg. I'm waiting for wayland (and no, sway is not a thing).

>abstains from meritocracy
>doesn't expect a drop in code stability and security

>waiting for wayland
kek

why do you act like being diverse means code quality is thrown out the window? Most Coc's are just "don't be rude and treat our users fairly." It isn't "Oh, you're a mulatto Muslim LGBT female programmer! We won't check your pull requests."

Are you being dense and obtuse on purpose?

i3 is the only tiling wm that makes sense

bspwm

Best, but pain in the ass to compile from source on a shared machine you do not have root access to.

it actually means
'your code was rejected due to beeing shit'

response
' are you harrasing me? are you saying woman cant contribute with your project?'
'this is prejudice against lgbt comunity, patriarchy opression, missogeny, bla bla bla'

>sway is not a thing
Why not?

Sway is hands down the best Wayland environment right now.

why dwm over i3?

stumpwm

stumpwm of course

How often do you think this happens and how does a Coc prevent these events from happening?

Install dwm or go home

newfag here, there is any way to change the i3blocks size?

Kill yourself

why?

tiles are gay

awesome

Why would anyone run a tiling wm when you can setup any DE to do the same? Unless you don't have enough RAM?

that's dzen you're using for the bars right?
I never really got why people bothered. a simple xsetroot is much more elegant and more in-line with what dwm is about.

install gentoo

>Ctrl + f
>"hlwm" no results
>"herbstluftwm" no results
You guys disgust me.

bspwm.

It's way slower than bspwm without offering anything extra.

noice bars, which ones are you using?
post dotfiles

bspwm is nothing like herbstluftwm

tmux

>bspwm is nothing like herbstluftwm
Name 3 major differences.
The only ones I know is Herbstluft has 2 borders (which is bad IMO) and shittier config system without dedicated keyboard daemon (and it's way less script-able).
Other than that they are practically the same, except Herbstluft is slower.

There's nothing similar about them. HLWM works by manually splitting frames within defined "monitor" rectangles. BSPWM dynamically places windows in spiral patterns.

tiling wms are shite

Install IceWM

Are you the same nigger who made that thread yesterday?
The i3 CoC is almost two years old, long before that tranny came.
And i3 is still fine.

>BSPWM dynamically places windows in spiral patterns
It's a "fallback".
BSPWM is primarily about manual positioning with binary trees.

Have you even used it?

>(and no, sway is not a thing).
ahem
sway is THE thing, ever heard of wlroots?

>xlib shit

Actually that is xsetroot, just using custom fonts and the extra bar patch and a couple other patches

>sway is THE thing,
The shitty thing.

Just use plasma you dirty hippy

>t. Jow Forumstard

oh i see
you're using some long obsoleted version because you use debian
should be fairly easy for you make it yourself

holy shitcicles, that's quite some effort
Why won't you just use something simple?

herbstluftwm is unique, there's no wm like it

fvwm

what's unique about it?

it has a container style tiling which is just a static grid that you then populate with programs, if you close the programs the grid will not adjust but just be an empty space. it's nothing like bspwm.

>if you close the programs the grid will not adjust but just be an empty space
You can literally do that in bspwm.

Recommend be a tiling WM that allows per-side border settings.

Let's say I want to have only the upper border with the 3px width.

The Coc doesn't prevent these events, it FACILITATES them

Wayland is never going to happen because of Nvidia.
Xorg will be forever, just shut up and install xmonad.

doesn't sound extremely comfortable.
IMO i3 is more than enough, even if Jow Forums thinks it's for n00bz. What it really lacks, though, is being able to save layouts. I find myself resizing shit again and again every single fucking I restart an application

bspwm

>bspwm
Are you sure? How would you do that?
github.com/baskerville/bspwm/issues/707

it has a code of conduct, but it's not the tranny covenant.
it's a general "don't be a dick" without any kind of penalties or trial without representation type stuff.
it's not "CoC'D".

i3fags are the vegans of window managers.

Man I hope not, I have never ever been able to fix screen tearing in xorg.
