Is this good in 2019?

No. All electronics will be phased out by 2021

yes, we are going to move to cloud-based now. Computation will be done by nitrogen gas molecules floating in the sky.

Yep, it's great. I got my EE degree and graduated with a full-time salary job in web development.

What does web development have to do with electrical engineering?
Is this a troll?

>Is this a troll?
No this is current economic climate.

I took a masters in numerical analysis and I am now working full-time as a webdev as well.

no

Not really, webdevs are hired with pretty much any semi-tech degree.

DO they make good money?

I've heard this story a million times, even one friend we know who's a mechanical engineer got a webdev job

Yes and No.

ok?

I don't know what's good anymore
it gave me a full rider and I make $86k and the insurance is great

Electrician and industrial technologist here. I think that if you're genuinely good at math and love electrical shit then go for it, but then specialise. You can make hand over fist cash when you're in a niche market that's in demand.

Electrical engineers have basically turned into second tier support staff for computer engineers. Twenty years ago a typical electronics product would contain hundreds of components in a very carefully designed circuit. Now all an electrical engineer does is plop a microcontroller on a PCB and hand it to a firmware programmer to do the important work.

i have a pet peeve when people mention their salary but not their (city/rural) status.
$90k in SF is $60k in the midwest.

90k sf is 35k midwest

That means it depends on multiple factors idiot

sounds like your degree was useless then lmao

:/

I'm taking a certificate in "Electronics and Electromechanical Technology" at a community college. Few people on Jow Forums ever seem to want to talk about stuff like RCL circuits, 3-phase power, or anything fun like that. The closest I see here is shit posting about who's got the best wall plugs.
