spotted the highschool student
yeah I'm a cs major in high school
either way you're not employed if you give a shit about plagarism
>mfw get paid to plagerize
Ignore this retard. Companies are always getting butt fucked when they ignore another project's license and use the codebase. This neet has no industry experience, and has defintly never been in charge of a large project.
You should be very concerned with plagurism if this is an electronic submission and you have blatantly copied another students work. Most schools will do some sort of detection for plagurism. Besides, what are you even learning if you don't actually think about a problem, and attempt an implementation.
>Companies are always getting butt fucked when they ignore another project's license
that's not exactly the type of plagarism I was talking about
Give it back Jamal
Plagiarism don't exist because 0 and 1 are public domain
who the fuck checks for plagiarism in code?
there is a huge chance you'd get a false positive
How do people who defend piracy also say plagiarism is bad? If you ask me, both are good
Piracy is someone distributing work from the original author, outside of the original distribution channels, where the author receives no compensation for their work that would normally come from its sale.
Plagiarism would be someone releasing someone else's work as their own. It's the difference between "Beatles - Abbey Road" and "Fairlight - Abbey Road" ... pretty big difference.
Generally you just ask the person who wrote it how it works. If they can't explain what each line does, they probably looked it up and copied it, may be changed some variable names around.
>he doesn't know about moss
I used to be in charge of kicking cheating students out in University. Students routinely copy code and change variables around. The best is when the files have identical checksums.
for school if they use moss you will probably be caught. moss checks byte programs so var x and var y is identical
for industry if anything just understand what you code and include licenses if u copy code. palemeda and other software scanning programs are used to detect plajarism in industry they dont like copyleft
Oh look, people with actual experience. Nice.
Pretty easy.
There's a difference between copying code snippets and copying a whole codebase.
How do you know it is copied though?
I've specifically avoid obvious implementations (that I understood) cause I was afraid of faggots like you.
theory.stanford.edu
u most likely made this thread because you submitted a plagiarized assignment for your final. you will get caught 100%. enjoy your F and academic integrity violation
Dude if you do your own assignments dont worry about those stuff
What exactly do you mean, copying some code from a stack overflow post or downloading an entire source code from github and turning it as your own?
write your own kode, Pajeet
either one is going to get him flagged by any plagiarism checker, using variables or not. im a 3rd-year comp eng. undergrad. so many students got kicked out of comp sci due to academic integrity violations because of moss. the thing is, OP probably submitted multiple assignments, so not only will it be flagged on MOSS for plagiarism, they'd be able to know if it was your work or not based on previous assignments. intro into cs is a honeypot to weed out cheaters like OP.
It's always obvious. If you don't cheat nobody will accuse you.
>Plagurism
What is plagurism?
How on earth is copying from SO bad?
If you understand what does the code do, why not copy it? It's not like you can just insert most code snippets into your program without changing them anyway.
You look at the student who wrote it.
It's not bad unless you don't understand and copy verbatim.
Also you copy sections from stack overflow not the entire assignment. It's completely different.
Variable names is a dead giveaway.
My professor caught a group of 5-6 pajeets cheating in intro cpp this summer because of that shit. They literally just copy/paste one dude's work for an assignment. I don't know wtf is going on inside people's heads sometimes.
Also, why would you cuck yourself out of learning for an easy grade? What the fuck kind of a retard cheats in school anymore?
Write your own code Tyrone
all three of my group members in a four person project second to last semester literally could not write basic c code. none of them wanted to be developers or related and just want to finish their degree to end the torture. cheating is perhaps the only way i can explain their incompetence and things worked out for them.
the professors will then highlight those copied snippets during the project presentation.
at least thats how they do it on my uni.
if you have no idea what the code does then youre fucked.
T. Pajeet poopalingam codemonkey
you talking about school? how about actually doing the assignment faggot, only retards cheat through school or use chegg
>If you ask me, both are good
If someone steals your work and make money with it INSTEAD of you, what would you do?
The first thing you're told when you enter a lab to do a phd is to always stay vague about your subject and never tell fellow researchers not involved in the project what you're doing.
Imagine working years of your life on something impactful just to see it being published by a coworker who picked it up 3 months ago.
I had a professor who commited suicide because of this, it ruins lifes to see your work stolen.
