I know this is a shitpost, but fuck it. The Athlon 64 was good.

This but unironically.

The 6502 MOS now that was a CPU.

>Yep, the E6600 Conroe. *sips* THAT was a processor

its funny how the boomer meme consists in posting the truth

That's why it's so good.
>Love of simpler times
>Appreciation of quality products that were also a good deal
>Rejection of fads and modern gimmicks

yabba dabba doo

I miss my X2 4400+ lads, I remember running GTA4 at 12fps on it

Everywhere else it was miles away from any Pentium that most people had in my shithole country

flag completely ruins this

looks comfy desu

athlon 64 was great
so was my opteron 170
with my dfi n64 board
and my 6600gt
bring me back

*sips* This is the only computer I will ever need.

>GenX (born 1964-1979)

That pic is my dream. A comfy place in the country with my own land, a garage to work on shit in, a lawn to mow. Give me 15 years of that before I die and I will have lived a good life.

Same. I don’t have much hope of it ever happening though.

>me a millennial and gen z or whatever the fuck people in the mid 90s are now

My goals are not that far from boomers, Im pretty optimistic but skeptical. I stay away from modern gimmicks but can appreciate the need to change how we operate in technology.

For example scalable tech stack, palletization, etc. etc.

AFAIK desktops/laptops have been operationally the same since 2013 and the only thing Im really paying for since that time is 4K screens and SSDs.

Americunt detected

>Bitching about Americans on a American site.
kek

Why would anyone need a CPU more powerful than an Athlon 64 for shitposting, and loonix ricing? Typing this on a Latitude D800 with a Pentium M @ 2.1 GHz, and an original battery that still holds a charge for roughly 4 hours.

Oh, you don't like the name I called you? Take a tissue.

>Getting this butt hurt
KEK

It hasn't been american for well over 3 years now you dumb mutt.

nope
Pentuim 1 pro and C64 was the shit

t.Gen X
get out hippie

>Being so pissed off you have to go full retard
K E K

Not me but here's your (you)

kek I dont see why you people get so worked up over it. Its almost like you are coping for something.

>Gets called Americunt
>Makes big deal about it
Kek

kek all I did was point it out. If anything you tards are the ones getting worked up about it. Just look at

I think you should really look into anger management, It might help you live longer.

Americunt and autistic
>Ken
Kek

I think you should also look into effects of lack of oxygen to your brain. You seem to fit all of the symptoms for it.

Whatever you say sperglord

the phenom 2 now that was the CPU of the time

Attached: phenom ii.jpg (1280x960, 192K)

Whats that? All I hear is excessive foaming from your mouth.

It was fun overclocking that thing almost 50% with stock cooling.

I remember my Barton like it was yesterday

Am I a boomer or a zoomer if I feel this way for the i7-2600k?
God DAMN could those things overclock.

the Athlon 64 was better than the P4 in every way though and when the X2's came out the P4 got even more shit on.

I remember having a P4 then moved to the athlon 64,

Holy shit the P4 was awful. I found the motherboard again before i threw out a bunch of stuff and the board was so warped from the heatsink being jammed against it with that awful brace. truly an awful design.

Just got my first house. It's a starter freestanding townhouse. No lawn to mow, but it has a nice garage and an enclosed back patio that's like 14x10. I never thought I'd own a house and now I'm wiring shit, running cable, doing DIY projects, replacing faucets, and I couldn't be more happy / proud of the dumb smalltime projects I'm working on.

t.29 year old boomer

>had Phenom 2 X4 unlocked to 6 cores + overclocked to 4-4,5GHz
>any shitty Intlel i processor still outdid me when it came to single core performance
Eventually I had to settle for an i5 just so I could play Natural Selection 2 properly

Attached: a38.jpg (1024x962, 75K)

GTA4 runs at 12fps in any machine

Core 2 Duo E4x00. Damn those were cheap and comfy to overclock through the FSB.

*sips* yup, along with an FX 5700, this baby can play Doom 3 High Quality at 60fps on 800x600.

Attached: image1.jpg (3264x2448, 1.29M)

That machine was really powerful I used the hell out of mine.

>tfw fell for the Prescott meme back in 2004 because I was only 12 years old and my dad was just as clueless

Attached: 1544409513484.jpg (690x588, 79K)

You are as much of a zoomer as it gets, I mean how fucking underage do you have to be to feel nostalgia for a CPU that is still usable for 95% of tasks including videogames and moderate video encoding, fuck.
I guess I'm falling for bait.

>shitfix 5700
>not superior radeon 9500 softmodded to 9700

The Athlon 64 was better for general purposes including videogaymes.
The Pentium 4 was better for compression and encoding tasks.
Obviously don't fucking compare me a Willamette with a Manchester, let's be reasonable.

>tfw Radeon 9800 Pro on Athlon 64 2800+ New Castle on VERY shitty chipset from VIA
>tfw it was slower than previous Athlon XP 2800+ Barton with KT600
Goddammit why didn't I know better about how critical the chipset was back then, today even the worst chipset is just fine, expensive one are just for overclocling and shit, but back then a bad chipset would cut your CPU's performance in half

Attached: 1525897789552.png (377x330, 8K)

Socket 754 and 939 are zoomer babbys. Socket A is the real boomer platform.
>you will never again experience violating thoroughbred-b at 220 fsb until the ram gives and then keep it half "stable" there by dropping the mhz by 1

>tfw didn't have enough money for athlon so I had to settle for a sempron
Can't wait to make things right this time around and get me a spicy 10 core r7

They are both pretty zoomery if they were your first platform sweety.
t. Millennial starting with Socket 7

I know that feel, I had the exact same cpu gpu ram sata specs as a friend of mine except he had like a $400 motherboard and everything was 2x faster than my shit

sounds comfy desu, I'm happy for you, user. we all gonna make it

my athlon 64 x2 6000+ 3.0ghz doubled my electric bill and made my bedroom into a furnace. good times.

incorrect. Slot 1 is the boomer platform
>tfw paid $3000 for a dell xps with 1 ghz Piii, a 19" Trinitron and Harmon Kardon speakers in 2000

Attached: P3s1-1000hf.jpg (640x428, 71K)

The 3200+ AMD64, was the processor that made Intel fall out of bed and get to work, before this chip came out they was stuck in their "GHZ IS KING YO!!!!" life. 130watt+ 3.70ghz P4s that where getting beat by intel 1.8ghz laptop chips of the day.

So they rushed out the CoreDuo chips not the Core2Duos (they where mint) but CoreDuo and CoreSolos which wher rebranded CoreM laptop parts glued to a 774 socket.......they were Bullshit

Attached: DankThots.jpg (1280x720, 130K)

Still running my 2500k I've had for fuckin 8 years now and still can't really find a reason to upgrade. It's only got a mild OC on it at 4.3GHz too. Upgraded from a 560ti 448 to a 970 and slapped in a SSD a few years after I got it, but otherwise everything else is how I built it.

I also have a server I'm building on the cheap using an i7-2600 ripped out of an optiplex and my old 560 ti. Gonna throw it at a friend's house and have a a windows VM running for streaming steam games to my laptop or something so I can play vidya over there if I want.

The first computer I ever built had a 3200+, I think, paired with a ATI X1300.
