when i calculate in ruby:
x= 0xCCAED5
y= 0x7BBE3A
puts x + y

why is the output not in hexadecimal?

Have a question.
Looking to get my little brother a gift for christmas, thinking about a ups, but I have a question. while it would be used for the computer and a general make sure the worst doesn't happen, I am wondering if there are any that can deal with american and euro, not for the power input but output.

Can I learn to program on a chrome book?

no

Please explain.

you can, I was just pulling your leg user

look into ruby's documentation for addition of hexadecimlas? sorry I can't answer better, but usually programming languages aren't smrt enough fr this by default. perhaps post the error messgae, if any

Har har you are a stitch :^)

it's linux based, so you should be pretty comfy as well. best of luck. what resources are you planning on starting off with?

Thanks, I’m getting a refurbished Lenovo which only has 4gb RAM, but it has a SSD if that matters (I’m a noob) the screen is small but the device is cheap and I’m pretty broke being that I just got put on unemployment (seasonal layoff), learning wise I am going to be using Learn Python 3 the hard way, and then taking an IBM intro to data science and then hopefully completing coursera’s cert in data science....alll of this, because I want to work on a program that would produce a work of nonfiction on its own (more or less); but really, I tried coding for a while and gave up when I thought I would never get a job without a degree and now I’m pursuing it purely because I find it interesting (especially data science).

solved it, the i just converted the dec output to hex

Also sorry for the late reply I was just scared to death by snow falling off of my roof and went to investigate (and finish the spliff i was smoking)

What is that website that compares the failover from hard drives?

ive been running 32 bit lenovo w/ 1 gb ram for years, no problem. python is great, i personally love this resource for it too: cs.cmu.edu/~112/schedule.html

glad u got it user

Ah very good resource thanks user

I'm trying to install Windows 10 via USB (legitimate copy, yes I'm a dumbass) and I thought it hung on the "Loading files" screen. I restarted it and now when I try to boot it tells me the files are missing or corrupted. Did I just flush $130 down the toilet?

I have a question about a sample exam I'm working on. How do I do this? I'm completely lost.

here's the answer

HOW THE FUCK do I actually practice cyber/IT security in my spare time?

HOW THE FUCK do I build cyber/IT security applications?

WHAT THE FUCK kind of languages are prominent in cyber security Jobs?

Go back

Tried it on another computer, same error. I think I fucked it.

My qBittorrent download speeds cap at 3.2mb/s
Shouldn't it be higher?

what area of “”””””””””hacking””””””””””””” is worth investing time into? wifi seems like it’d have the highest ratio of invested time to learn to rewards. i mean i could probably already set up a Rasp Pi with battery power in a public cafe to snoop with

if two people are browsing the same website from different locations, is it possible that one person can see what the other is browsing? Like lets say two people are browsing Jow Forums, but one person has more tabs open to different websites, can the other person see what the other is browsing?

it’s certainly possible given the lack of information you’ve given (for example, are you wearing a go pro on your head and live streaming it to this person? can this person ssh into your machine, or have they had physical access to your machine? have they sent you programs that you run? etc etc..). but under normal circumstances, no. But more information is certainly needed

are you on the same wifi?

Cracking games. You may not make any money and people who basically zip up your files and pretend to be a girl online will make money off your hard work but it's the emotional connection you make with people and satisfaction of helping others that matters. Just like the jannies.

It's possible (stackoverflow "check if my website is open in another tab") but the website owner would have to publish/send that data to other users. I can't think of a way it would accidentally leak.

Are you worried about people here bullying you for that open Reddit tab?

If you're making an expensive monitor purchase, looking to save ~$70, which of these would you get? This is probably not a stupid question as it requires psychic abilities. All from Amazon warehouse.

Attached: 1520408954090.jpg (720x662, 74K)

>cracking games
I don’t really play any games, anything else?

None of what you mentioned. Two people from different countries or different parts of the same state. No one has had physical access or sent me anything, but i get a feeling that they know somehow.

no

what do you mean stack overflow? so you're saying it's possible but only if a use owns the site?

So it's not likely that it could happen right? help me bros, im paranoid af.

>they know somehow
can you elaborate? why do you think so? this is interesting

If I connect my HDMI cable from my computer to my monitor, does that mean I can't use speakers? HDMI is audio/visual, but the monitor has no speakers. So does that mean the GPU is sending audio data to a dead end and won't switch to speakers if I plug them in? I have no speakers to test my theory on and would simply like to know.

Attached: 1525284636738.jpg (331x418, 31K)

>save $70 on a 500 DOLLAR monitor by buying sloppy seconds
christ, just buy it new. if it was 200-300 burger coupons off the top I might consider sloppy seconds.

>it's the emotional connection you make with people and satisfaction of helping others
you're cracking games with other sociopaths dude you aren't saving lives

when i plug my headphones into either my speakerless monitor or my tower, i get sound

Hey retard, Google search stackoverflow and the words in quotes. You fucking retard.

The guy implements some JavaScript to determine whether his website is open twice. So it's at least possible to view weather your website is open twice in the same browser. This may mean it's possible for client-side JS to use browser functions to query open tabs BUT I doubt any browser would actually implement this. This doesn't mean it's not possible due to some work-around, like the one mentioned on stackoverflow.

A 3rd party intercepting communications between you and a website that knows what other tabs are open? No. It's not going to happen with 99.99% certainty.

I just installed kde. Why does this still look like default ubuntu? Total linux newb here.

where can i find templeOS ISOs from before AfterEgypt was removed by the glowers?

im paranoid as shit is all. Like it's a mental thing. I have nothing to hide, it's just idk, like i'll be listening to a song on YT but then i'll hear someone else play it at uni, or i'll see someone post in here, or i'll see it somewhere else and lll start thinking weird shit, but i forget that it's a popular song or that YT's algorithm recommends it to other people. idk how to explain it, I just like to be safe when using a computer because i'm ignorant compared to some of you CS guys on Jow Forums and i want to be careful, i don't trust others and i want to take care of my stuff.

the look is determined by the desktop environment (or just the window manager)

so your DE/WM were probably the same

The format of the numbers depend on the print function.
A 2 in decimal and a 2 in hexidecimal is stored the same way.

i’m kinda the same way, but maybe not as extreme. sounds a lil unhealthy desu user, maybe take an internet leave?

>Windows 7, dual monitor setup
>Turn off Aero and switch to basic theme
>Move task bar to secondary monitor
>Screen tearing gets significantly worse on main monitor.
Was there some setting in Aero that was keeping this not awful or is my gpu being a gaywad? Previously it was only bad on certain websites in waterfox and wasn't affecting games/shitposting.

GTX 1050, 416.81
1440p IPS in landscape as Main, didn't pay the gsync tax and doesn't look like it even has freesync
Some sub 1080p pos in vertical for secondary monitor
Both at 60 hz, but I can do 75hz on the main if I stop with the 10bit color.

You can either tell your gpu to not bother or your OS which device to output sound to.

thank you, you put my mind at ease brother. I can sleep well knowing my playlist is safe.

it sucks and im considering it. thanks for helping bro. god bless.

god bless you too user, don’t let those glow in the darks get you

By "this" I assume you mean the update window and not the entire thing.
You need two themes, one for gtk applications and one for qt applications. Since kde works on your qt applications, try updating your gtk theme.

And if you ever hear the term "client side decorations" now you know this is what they talk about.

>i'll be listening to a song on YT but then i'll hear someone else play it at uni
Everyone looks for patterns, doesn't mean there is one.
Try buying a car. Suddenly everyone have the same car as you or the same color as you. You just never noticed before.
It is like when you hear a new word.
Odds are you hear that word 3 or more times within the next day. It just seems weird to you because you are focused on it.
It doesn't mean the next person who says "coincidence" is a secret agent coming to get you.

I'm probably gonna get banned for posting this.
But is anyone else noticing they're getting more and more "False bans"?
As in their IP range is banned for proxy/VPN/Tor exit node?
And you need to get Jow Forums/nel pass to bypass it.

Attached: 1511731828967.jpg (679x679, 132K)

You have a larrikin on your IP range. I used to share a range with a guy who kept getting banned for anti semetic comments on /fa/. Then the whole range got banned.

what should I do about my graphics card not fitting into my case? Didnt know it would be so much bigger, it bulges where the power cables plug in and slightly across the main body of it,

current plan is to use a heat gun on the plastic window and bend it an inch out across the length of the card, changing case is too much of a pain in the ass

Attached: 2018-12-11_09-31-46.png (1187x894, 1.28M)

Probably, but the bans are really old from 2012, that even after appealing it still get rejected.
ISP do uses dynamic IP, but the frequency of the false bans are increasing, like 5 false bans in this month.
It just seemed odd to me, I thought perhaps hiro was up to something.

beginner here, how do I construct a new matrix out of two square matrices of different size, as I tried to depict here. I'm using python

Anyone with experience in government type server situations can tell me why our IT gives a department of 10 people 100GB shared server space, of which 90% is filled by hidden stuff? Is it really that costly to get a few hundred more GB?

Is there a way to wipe (zero out) not used space on HDD?
>work lent me laptop
>used laptop to download porn
>work now want laptop back
>transfered porn to external hdd
>paranoia kicks in
>plan to use dban
>laptop has propriety software that if deleted I'll have to pay for it when returning.

Attached: 1515511929966.jpg (1024x576, 53K)

i've attempted to use ccleaner before to wipe free space on a drive, but i only did one wipe and the files were able to be recovered using recuva - so if you do wipe free space to really make sure it's gone you probably have to do a few consecutive wipes

Is there a way to force it to write over it then?

Multiple wipes are meme. Bleachbit kills most of the shit you would want gone, and has a free space option. Only reliable on HDD though. SSDs have to be COMPLETELY secure erased to reliably kill deleted files.

i meant to convey that just doing 1 wipe with ccleanr won't be enough to not be able to recover the files. another serious problem about ccleaner for this is that it doesn't wipe the filenames of the file just makes them (for the most part) unrecoverable, but the filenames can be just as bad give aways.

just look online for a space wiper that you think will get the job done

this thread is interesting and suggest either this
eraser.heidi.ie/
or a 35-wipe pass haha

forum.facepunch.com/f/hwsw/bgpml/Is-CCleaner-Wipe-Free-Space-a-hoax-by-any-chance/1/

meant to link this thread

It's HDD alright.
>SSDs have to be COMPLETELY secure erased
Does bleachbit support that?

Just got my blower Vega 64.

Holy shit that thing runs hot. I can either set the fan to spin at 3600RPM, or have it run at 80 degrees in games.

Already downvolted to 1075, doesn't seem to crash at that voltage, crashed at 1000 and 1050.

Is running a gpu at 80-85 degrees okay?

>but the filenames can be just as bad give aways.
Most of these are Jow Forums's posted files naming format.

Some fags will tell you that is fine but it's really not OK especially if you game quite often it will shorten the life of the GPU.

where can I buy a stock of really low capacity usb flash drives for really cheap?
I need like 10-15 of them and I don't need to store big files, so even less than 500mb should be fine.

Attached: IMG_20181113_201122_642.jpg (300x308, 24K)

nvm I solved it by using the np.bmat function

posting this in /csg/, sorry for posting it here

What's the recommended wordlist for cracking WiFi passwords?

Attached: 1528927070308.jpg (1300x1836, 211K)

Okay, but don't blowers run hotter in general. Also what is this HBM thing people are talking about? I'm guessing it refers to the memory area in Wattman.

Nobody cracks wifi with wordlists

What do they use then?

Cunny crack software. Just google cunny crack.

What's most secure out of the current options?
>Dropbox
>Google Drive
>Mega
>OneDrive
>iCloud
>Amazon Drive

(no I cannot use self hosted cloud storage)

Very funny.
Where I live many passwords follow a somewhat constant pattern, I've created a very large wordlist that worked ~90% of the time.
I want to cross reference it with a wordlist designed for WPA/WPA2 cracking.

None of those are secure. If you really NEED to use one of those then use Mega and use Cryptomator cryptomator.org/

I would just use a rotary saw to cut out a rectangle where the gpu is on the plastic window

Is there any information on Spotify obtaining the data from what I watch on youtube/listen to on Soundcloud? I feel like my discover weekly, etc. are always based on the stuff I listen to on other platforms and I can’t find a way to disable it if it does happen.

I wanna get into the 2 monitors meme
Can I use vga in one and dvi in the other? I dont have hdmi cable

Attached: 1458659582desk1.jpg (1920x1080, 292K)

Whats the difference between GPU and motherboard monitor slot? And why can't I get a display when connecting to the motherboard?
Only dvi to gpu works

Yes, old vga plugs can push FHD
No onboards graphics or no proper motherboard driver for it

Motherboard display ports is for CPU integrated graphics OR (rarely) motherboard onboard graphics. GPU ports are for the GPUs graphics.

You may not have any integrated graphics on your CPU or you're missing drivers.

How to test if WiFi adapter supports AP & Monitor mode and is capable of injection?

Attached: have_a_nice_day_by_slawa-d8k4vuk.jpg (400x536, 20K)

How does my PC calculate the correct time after I reboot it without internet connection?

should I get dual dvi splitter or hdmi?

The 2 monitors are supposed to show the screen (not 1 big screen together). Only one is for standing the other is for movie watching and gaming.

My portable cd player outputs buzzing when my phone's next to it, using mobile data. Redpill me on this shit, I'm a physicslet. Using trs earphones, btw

I have 4 hard drives. Is there a program that keeps an automatic backup of specific files and folders on all the drives/partitions?

in terminal
airmon-ng wlan0
'wlan0' write the name of your adapter
you should find it there

That's just airmon-ng suite.
It doesn't say if the WiFi capable of creating access point or packet injection.

So I have adsl-modem that is in bridged mode, after that is Asus Ac87u router that is connected to PC. The first time after I had put my modem to bridged mode, I just connected my router to it and it worked automatically. Now suddenly yesterday my router stopped connecting to my modem. I have reseted it, installed new firmware, unplugged it and restarted multiple times and it can't connect to internet. I can connect modem to PC straight and there indeed is internet access. Should I just send my asus router back or what do?

Everything thinks I'm a robot. Omegle gives me a CAPTCHA before and after every disconnect, Discord wants me to verify that I'm a human, and even posting on Jow Forums is a pain in the ass because Google's reCAPTCHA thinks I'm a robot and won't give me a challenge to solve.

I can't change my IP address. What do I do?

Does images made in paint include exif data?

I'm using mpv on osx and want to use the webm script by ekisu, what do I do with the webm.lua file?
github.com/ekisu/mpv-webm

install linux

This has been bugging me for a while now
I have a 400mbps connection, which works perfectly fine when downloading something through internet browser or steam for example, but when using torrents, I've rarely seen speeds exceed 150mbps or so, plus if there are a lot of peers on multiple torrents, the speed becomes atrocious
Any ideas what the problem is? I'm using Deluge on Win10

>Win10
stopped giving a shit right there

That's where my post ended
also
>stupid questions thread
I'm allowed to be stupid here

Sounds like your router is a pile of shit. If you have some kind of DoS protection setting, try turning that off.

What programming language is literally perfect and can do everything from the lowest to the highest level in any paradigm?

I didn't say "stopped reading right there"
>I'm allowed to be stupid here
I didn't say you're stupid
